awful sums up this afternoons gfs call it what you want euro hp or bartlett hp for at least the next 10 days we are stuck with this slug. not many februarys that i can think of as bad as this one truly shocking

there is no such thing as favorable when it comes weather just roll a dice and see what numbers you get or for the people who win big on the lottery its just the same with the weather your either lucky or not

we no when things look grim when we bring out the impossible its name is there for a reason

if we are to get something for the last week of February it will all come down to the atlantic ridge getting far enough north to either give us a 48h toppler or something better at the 192h mark but I wouldn't bank on either the way our luck has been this season

yes back looking at 10+ days charts for anything positive again this sums it up

even the GFS test model has it very mild for next week grass cutting shortly at this rate only positive at least its dry

instead of looking at charts at 11 days away charts in the more reliable time frame will be a lot more accurate and these charts below a quite shocking sadly

i looks like a real beast of a pv not what you would expect for mid febuary if you could take out the date from that image many people like myself would guess it looked like chart for early december we can ony hope this run has went cuckoo

yes time for the spring thread to open i feel the daffs will be poping up shortly a month earlier than usual the pv looks stronger now than it did on december

very true as febuary moves on the pv starts to loose its grip with the days getting longer and the sun stronger we have a far greater chance of some blocking highs we just need a bit of luck for any to be in a favorable postion

yes this ssw warming event took place at the start of January and takes about 3-5 weeks to show its self north America is now having the effects of this event as we speak on average you tend to only get 2-3 ssw events every decade so we could well have to wait a while for the next one possibly

well the next 2 weeks dont look very promising with the icelandic low setup taking over for the first time this season i have to say but it may only last a few weeks and we could still get one more last hurrah for the second half fof febuary

after a breif warm up for the next few days it looks very likely they will be hit with round 2 of this mega cold i can only put it down to this ssw event we had with its inpact now bein felt in north america but sadly europe missed the boat this time round thats the way it goes sometimes just pot luck maybe we will get a small dose next time round

i have to say i doesnt look great the dreaded icelandic low looks to be in charge for febuary but as we have seen for the past 6 weeks it hasnt been very good has it

looks good from the ecm for at least a 7 day cold snap for all the country not just the north and even after that there is hints of some northern blocking at the 8-10 day time frame so please folks dont start talking about breakdowns will you
