  1. Moderate snaw here the past hour al white temps at -1.3c just getting ready to take bullseye out his evenings walk he loves the snaw
  2. We dont get so many cold fronts crossing the country as we once did sadly and certainly less blocking highs to our east which we are getting tonight
  3. I just seen the first few flakes starting to fall regarding snaw amounts im not to sure it looks like a non event to be honest or have i just been spoiled this season
  4. It doesnt look like any snaw from this band will even make it across the border to england it looks more and more likely our freinds from the midlands will get nothing once again this week after al there high hopes in the MOD thread o dear
  5. Dont worry anywhere from 10 miles from the coast will be snaw but it doesnt look that heavy even here i dont expect anymore than 2 inches
  6. Well im sitting patiently awaiting the snaw as its makes it way at snails pace should be here at 10pm but im not sure if there will be anything worthwhile once it gets here its disintigration as it moves south untill it arrives i will watch the fitba
  7. Had a lovely day in girvan today temps was a pleasant 7c and spring like but once you get up here it droped to 3c in just a 30min drive certanly not spring like here baltic more like and the temps have already droped to -3c roll on spring i say
  8. Fairly miserable day here like most days i have to say was rain earlier but has now turned to sleet as the temps have droped from 3.5c earlier to 2.4c now nextweek looks like being very cold with severe frosts i wouldnt be surprised if we get down to -12c again like we did at christmas time
  9. I think you could well be right on that the models are saying the same thing many people will be very frustrated come wednesday evening i fear because they missed out sadly but on a plus note if we can keep on the northern side of the jet northern areas could well get a few falls of snow as -6 uppers is more than enough for me and a few million who stay in scotland
  10. Lovely day here also still cold but with temps at 1.2c with snaw still on the ground from tuesdays falls but most of it has melted looks boarderline for me tommorrow for somemore nextweek looks more interesting with the pest from the west meeting the beast from the east this could well gives us al some heavy falls
  11. What do they say about march in like a lion out like a lamb march 2013 if my memory serves me right was the coldest for 100 years i had 7ft drifts for 3 weeks with arran near oblituated
  12. I think even the montreal canadiens would struggle to keep upright tommorrow morning when i do my mums shopping the state of the pavements and roads in the village are going to be atrocious there has been 2 people i no already this season who have fell and had broken bones and have been hospitalised our council are not to keen on filling the salt boxes in these outlying areas
  13. Could well be my uncle told me the last time it snowed in girvan was 1970 when he was driving the coal lorry and got stuck in the school playground delivering it
  14. It must be the coldest run i have seen sice 2010 at least but is probaly just a outlier me thinks al the same it looks cold for the next fortnight for sure i was hoping to see this special moon tonight but as usual to cloudy here so i cant see it and i dont think i will be still here in 150 years time to see it again
  15. Snawing heavy here the past 40 min just manged to get up the road from my mothers even in a ford ranger with 4x4 tires on it to 5 inches of snaw on my steps snaw level is deffenetly lowering as the evening goes on so i think we are all in for a good shout for tonight not just me
  16. Snaw level seems to be about 180m i went down to visit my mum she stays at 196m and there is slush and snaw lying on pavements and back garden there is a fair chance it will lower tonight as the temps drop
  17. Got up this morning with 2 inches lying with snow on and of al day from beefy showers temps at 0.2c its been some season for snow in this area i have had more days of snow lying on the ground than just bare ground with next week set to go into the freezer again it takes me back to the 70s and early 80s again
  18. Looks like a few colder days next week followed with milder stuff as the lows crash over the PV if anything looks to be picking up strength as feb goes on just maybe this is the last hara from it before it explodes or is that just whishfull thinking
  19. Not sure when the last NAO went negative i would hazard a guess and say march 2013 that would be five years and still no signs of it changing to negative i would also note that our first sub 910mb low is bound to arrive before the NAO ever gets to negative again as the president keeps saying what global warming ?
  20. whats going on the PV is gaining strength as the season goes on not the reverse anybody got a time machine and we can go back to the 50s
  21. looks like the easterly will just miss with all the energy going over the top and we could well get the dreaded south westerly in the latter stages
  22. yes it has been the theme all season and there is nothing to suggest its going to change anytime soon many people have done well from these north westerlies this season one thing which looks strange is you don't often see all the PV slap bang on our side of the hemisphere with nothing in Siberia and I mean nothing that's from all models for the past 3-4 days now
  23. well the GEM has inproved from this mornings run looks like its trying its best for hight rising to our NE it wouldn't surprise me if we had the david and goliath show and we all no the winner from that
  24. Some of the older generation arould here told me of the times when snow was still piled up in the shaded areas in may and was black with soot from the coal fires they burned thats how long it used to lay some years not anymore oviously but i would gladly swap weather with you for a year if it was possible you would notice a big difference in rainfall and sunshine thats for sure
  25. Yes it would be a nice change western scotland has had a real pasteing this season from snow but looking at the 18z run we will need a new snow shovel well i will i broke mine last week trying to shovel 14 inches of snow from my pad two weeks of hard frosts and sun would cheer us all up
