It would look as if thye should raise it to amber yeah. strange Met ie going for just "wintry showers" snow on high ground and no weather warnings.

last cold spell put me off automated forcasts, chopped and changed every 20 mins even the day before, and then even on the day they would forcast loads of percipitation for a certain area, and in reality hits the other side of the country. will be no detail until in euro4 range, and even then until we can look at the snow radar, anything can happen

Met Office warning should upgrade nearer the time if gfs is near the mark. meto wont know what to do, potentially have to have a yellow warning all of next week and perhaps an amber Wednesday/Thursday if that runner verifies

Living in north west northern ireland, seen many atlantic lows coming in with -5/6 uppers and its alwaysss rain or sleet to low levels, atleast on the west of the country. gfs looks marginal, could be snowfest for some, UKMO uppers only -4, I wouldnt be expecting snow with that. it could well happen, i just wouldnt get my hopes up

Im in Belfast bur was talking oto the aul lad, nothing but rain in Strabane yet dispite the radar showing it, rekon it takes - 20 uppers for snow there ?

thick sleet/snow in titanic quarter belfast,atm . bodes well for later as its showing as rain on the radar, tonight should be fun

and the automated forcasts back upgraded again lol at this this it will just be radar watching and hoping for the best! hopefully we all get a covering atleast, laying snow is a rare sight these days

rekon its well exagerated, check euro4 for 12pm today, massive band of rain moving in, look at the radar and nowhere in sight lol

big update on the bbc forcast too, most northern areas showing heavy snow from thursday around 6pm rought through to friday! rekon the slider will start off as light snow before turning to rain, remember christmas day 2010 when the atlantic came in and it snowed a few hours before raining.

Might not be far wrong, showers seem to take 30/40 miles inland to turn to snow, north west always forcasted the most but often end up green! Let's hope there wrong this time ?

Think alot of people will be suprised come Friday morning, automated forcasts showing rain or sleet in the west and turning to snow as it pushes east, this seems to be the norm this past while, rains in Strabane thrn turns to snow few mile up the road, il be in Belfast anyway so lets hope we see it somewhere ?

yeah, its showing us at higher temps than london! seems impossible but what do I know

the generated forcasts for my area have now changed to rain thursday night adn friday, how could it be rain with -10 uppers :S it doesnt get much colder than that

Vwry confused, all the models scream highs of about 0 or 1 thrusday Friday Saturday, and buckets of snow for us in the north west, bbc still going for temps of about 5 and rain? What gives here ?

dont understand, looking at the radar, does strabane have too many RHI boilers fired up or what? everywhere else showing up as snow, constant green sleet here

That large band of 'sleet' falling as heavy snow with lovely big flakes for past 15mins, would need to keep going

Wouldn't you know just as shower activity increses it all falls as sleet!! What sort of uppers do we need for snow these days?!

that big shower is just starting here sleety mix, on the radar when then showers pass high ground they seem to go back to sleet

Very poor shower activity, sunny since the big shower at 9, looks like this was overplayed

Dont worry Sparky, Upper temps dropping all the time, I would say any shower from now on will be the white stuff
