    Yup, this is much, much more than fully deserved. Couldn't believe it when I got home and none of the cars here even had any snow at all on them! I had to clear 2 inches off mine only 12 miles away

    Well the south of the East Midlands, perhaps. But for Notts, Derby and Leics, I just cannot see it at all.

    Snowing heavily in Annesley, West Notts. Expecting massive accumlations here looking at the radar.

    That radar is looking pretty sexy this morning <_< Looks like on the Derby/Notts border we could quite a bit of snow, first from Stoke and then later on from the North?

    A slight (but only slight) word of caution... Someone living in central Wales has told me that they are getting a surprise SW wind with the pressure and temperature rocketing up... could there be a sting in the tail with a high pressure ridge approaching?

    Which part of Notts are you from? I work up near Annesley, was really surprised to see an inch of snow still lying in the car park!

    As I said yesterday, we didn't get an Orange warning until the snow was T minus 45 mins from arriving on Saturday... The ice warnings are an even bigger joke. It must have easily been the coldest night last night this winter, no warning, yet we had one when it barely dipped below 0...

    I don't understand how the interactive BBC map has rain for the Midlands tonight... how on earth is that possible with these temps?

    Bad news according to BBC Radio Derby... The BBC weather presenter said it's unlikely we'll get any snow, because it's going to stay in the east... I'd say it's probably unlikely for the West Midlands too. To be honest it feels like we are getting all the downsides of winter with none of the good stuff... and the longer term predictions for Feb are for a return to the "even larger teapot" with temps around 7c and rain

    Yup, same story here. Bear in mind that the MO did not issue a heavy snow warning until 45 MINUTES before the snow came to Derbyshire...
