    I take it you're not a Megson fan then, Ian? I think overall this cold spell has been satisfactory for most of us, BUT with the notable exception of Derby and Nottingham.

    You're not missing much, pptn is exactly the same as yesterday, rain/sleet/poor quality snow as I like to put it No not really for those who live in Derby, Notts, Kettering, and probably Leicester We had about an inch before Christmas, and 2 inches last week. That's worse than last Feb, and not even remotely close to being memorable to be honest...

    It does feel much more like a even larger teapot now. Chilly breeze with icy patches, air temperature steadily rising. Next week could open the floodgates to the SW'erlies.

    The snow is offering no accumulations and isn't in any way significant tbh.

    The flakes are absolutely tiny... it's the same 8 flakes just swirling around! You can't call that proper snow!

    Ian, from what I've seen of the charts it doesn't look as though the furthest inland parts of the midlands will be seeing much temperature rise before the end of next week - is this correct?

    Crimson bear in mind that forecast is for the whole of the East Midlands not *just* Nottingham, any Sleet showers will be on the coast there is no way you could have sleet in these conditions!!

    They got the forecast totally wrong here... said there would be no snow here last night and none this morning, both have occured and looks like there's more on the way from the wash :blink:

    None here and I'm about 6 miles west of Nottingham... it's sliding too far east which is probably good for you.
