    From around 19:00 monday night untill this time today i have over 20cms lying snow in my location. It makes me laugh though because not much mentioned on national news. Also Meto said 1-3cm on monday LOL so wrong.

    Well well, just took me 2 hrs to go from Ashton to stockport and back again. Even Class 2 trucks are getting stuck and they have the weight on the back wheels to make it through most things. Galaxy had some report from a council worker saying that manchester only has 80 ton of grit left...if thats true then were doomed

    Im in Ashton too near the ASDA its been snowing pretty much on and off since 19:00ish. Keep getting periods of really fine snow/icy rain. Nearest weather station reporting -1c and -2dp. Hope this warm air doesnt get too far inland. Funny as the models and fax earlier showed the warm air further west into ireland.

    Parts Of the Manchester ship canal were frozen this morning. Could see it going over barton bridge. Why is the Fax showing a low just north of Ireland?? Or am i wrong.

    Longhill Goyt valley(the old buxton road) and the back lanes leading to the Cat and Fiddle also good spots Of course im speaking purely from an observational perspective when i have driven round there in daylight hours

    Sorry to hear that i would have thought you were getting it too plus your higher up than me. So thats it for today, Just hope it doesnt melt away. Model thread seems to be full of people saying there's going to be huge ammounts of snow... will that be up here too?

    Hi im new here so excuse me for my ignorance/stupidity Just been reading the model thread and although most of it went over my head i got the jist that were heading into quite a cold spell. Theres lots of talk about snow etc and being cutoff and that but i see that most of this seems to be from people in the Sout East or Eastern side of the country. Will it just be these areas that get the white stuff or can i for Example in the North West expect to get some large ammounts of snow?

    Hi im pretty new to his. But i have been lurking as they say. Can anyone tell me if this snow of which i now have a 2-3 inch covering is going to continue today/tonight?
