Yup exactly what i thought, if this were reversed and comming from the east then the MOD thread would be chaos however this comming friday has more potential to bring snow to a much larger part of the country than an easterly.

BBC24 just showed a front sitting in irish sea from weds onwards???? Obviously open to change BUT if that front goes all classic on us we could see more than one event out of it? EDIT:- Sen it wrong lol

I believe 216 shows not much left of the vortex, no expert though still learning. Its position does suggest no heights over greenland though.

Err sorry have to disagree with you there Heres ECM same time you use:- Heres GFS for same:- And heres UKMO for same again:- GFS and ECM look far more alike so UKMO out on its own. But thats 120hrs away and why were talking about these charts when its quite clear none are able to accuratly predict beyond 72hrs????

For my area 09/10 was better had lying snow in some shape or form from 18th dec untill well after 5th Jan almost a month i think

Got ignored on the model thread no supprise there, i must be seeing it differently but those 850's arent as cold as the 6z which i though directly relates to if you get snowfall and it settling

Hang on a Minute!!!! Am i seeing a diff 12z the 850's arent as cold as the 6z especially further west you are this might be great for the east and south east but all this talk of epic snow for the "majority" i just dont see??

Yeh bit of a difference from 1mb To 100mb And the Corresponding 500 Not looking good, but it is still FI in a way so still open to change.

Quite a stunning post made by Recretos on strat thread showing that the GFS is, on a whole, very accurate with the start forcast, Im far more confident of it happening than not now, We just dont want any part of the PV setting up shop over greenland really.

Beat Me to it, However evidence points to a displacement not a split. But looking at the chart if it did split like forcast then wouldnt that heat then break through that weakish link between the two as it stretches then splits resulting in the smaller Vortex to spin off into southern canada/North america. Wouldnt this then slow/Halt the heat from rotating round the core, i would have though that the energy caught up in the heating would want to go somewhere as the other larger segment goes pretty much in the opposite direction. What would be the result of that influx of heat into the polar region i have no idea and tbh im not near experienced enough as some reporting in here lik Chi,GP, Lorenzo, BA and Recretos etc to have any confidence that i have got any of the above right lol.
