Ok here goes - am I the only one who isn’t satisfied by this slushfest? In our region realistically the snow isn’t going to last regardless of if we get a CM or 2 laying it’ll be melted by midday

Given all the good signals we’ve had this winter and proper cold forecasts this all just seems like a bit of damp squib to me, don’t get me wrong I might be on my own with this it’s probably my location swaying me but cold rain is just depressing rubbish! I crave proper cold and proper snow, sod all the marginality.

Also, call me bitter but how is it we look like the sweet spot then as we get towards the off the north and midlands are always the favoured ones? Rant over, yes someone did p**s on my cornflakes

You and me both... but then we are both on the coast. I'm glad you said it and not me, I don't want to be accused of bringing all this negativity to the thread.

Good luck to those further north and enjoy your snow fix.

Looks like this week is just a taste of what's to come later in the month with that very good meto office update.

So snow for many this week, but probably not too extreme, then a lull  before the bitter easterlies from Siberia arrive bringing powdery snowfalls for many and extremely cold air.

    Can't wait ⛄❄️⛸️

I hope for the sanity of the mad thread if nothing else they're right Sleety... but so far this winter the Met Office extended has been about as much use as a chocolate fireguard! Even a clocks right twice a day.

Was looking like the far south would be the sweet spot but alas the midlands always seem to be the lucky ones, very frustrating! Ah well it’s only a bit of snow.... right

And now the rest of the week looks like that may go a bit pear shaped too...

The way our luck has gone this winter, you just know we are going to end up with a cool spring under a constant chilly easterly... 2 months too late!

I’m meant to be going up to the Emirates to watch Arsenal v Cardiff on Tuesday evening, arriving back in Haywards Heath around midnight. If the snow could all just pile on once I’m back that would be great.

I have been there, 18 Dec 2010... just as we got to the station the Mrs phoned me up Arsenal v Stoke postponed it could of been worse we could of been on the train.

We do ok given our proximity to Europe, some of us are closer to Europe than London

plus the rest probably say the same in Sumer when we have the better weather!!

    We do ok? You might.

The 2018 beast from the east was a total washout around here... the Worthing snow shield held strong, a few hard frosts and an icing sugar sprinkling of snow one morning, a very poor return considering. The last decent snowfall down here was 2013. But I agree the summer months do usually make up for the poor winters.

  6. I've been a member on here for 9 years rarely post but always keep an eye on the various threads... the mod thread is always a bit nuts in winter but this year seems worse than ever, perhaps it's just me.

Anyway... low percentage chance of channel low delivering (in my back yard) onTues IMHO. If only we could get a bit of high latitude blocking... onwards and upwards.

To be fair, if Kent doesn’t fair well, would it be a disaster? Many in Kent were snowed in last time, but my friends just down the road from here only had a dusting. I guess it’s their turn for something!

And us down around Worthing have had a total accumulation of about 1cm over the entire winter!

I could sum it up perfectly but my language would probably get me banned... so much promise but naff all to show for it.

    Roll on the summer.

The snow clearing through now is it for today -

the big clump of snow pushing up from france will hit the SW this eve but then overnight the energy will pivot & spread back SE down the channel & up into our area tomorrow morning as snow - ( maybe in the extreme south coast rain )

The GFS wants to push the front through but other models like the UKMO / hirlam want to slow it down over london / SE

That really would add insult to injury for those of us on the West Sussex coast... roll on summer! :sorry:
