  1. Hard to tell but I think we have 6-7cm of snow here now. For this area that’s epic!
  2. Latest radar has just pepped up for East Manchester. Pouring with snow and it just keeps on coming
  3. So weird how localised these things are. Cover increasing here under persistent light - moderate snow.
  4. Where are all the other Mancunians? Coming down like mad here for the past 20 mins.
  5. Very, very interesting radar. That line of precipitation is heading straight for us.
  6. Just hoping they can survive the hills. The showers are there and on the correct trajectory - just need them to last this far.
  7. Looking good on the radar with showers just to the north of Sheffield moving through/developing. Its those which are tending to hit Manchester head on. O
  8. Looking good. Coming down nicely here again. So, so wintry here with icicles hanging off the cars with drifting powder!
  9. Enjoy mate. We've been unlucky in the city centre today really.
  10. I still think it looks good for Greater Manchester - looks a direct hit?
  11. Yes despite the pessimism in here I think the NW radar looks good.. quite a few green/yellow echoes surviving. Also most high-res output suggests the southern part of the region getting more organised snow by lunchtime.
  12. Light snow continuing here. Don’t write off today quite yet.
  13. There’s a lot upstream but generally light as they move over the tops. Most model output has heavy showers pushing over us around lunchtime and mid afternoon.
  14. The showers appear to be banding together to the east of the Pennines. Less blobby, more linear. Good news!
  15. Morning everyone. Despite a dry start snow is expected to push through the Manchester area towards lunchtime and mid afternoon. This is also supported by the MetO app. http://www.wetterzentrale.de/maps/GFSOPUK00_12_43.png
  16. Fair enough! Another shower about to hit I think (which has intensified over the Pennines). You can see it expand clearly between the 2145 and 2200 radar frames. Edit - it’s suddenly died to very light over Tameside. Bugger
  17. http://www.wetterzentrale.de/maps/GFSOPUK18_18_43.png oo ;-)
  18. In what way? Yes the precipitation over Yorks is generally light.
