  1. Hello everyone - how are you all? Very very well I hope. It's been an interesting time for me, been made redundant and now the car's broken down with an engine fault but the weather keeps me going (I'm a glass full kinda gal lol!) - here's hoping for a stormy time for us right down on the coast. Would of course prefer some snow but you can't have everything! Will be staying tuned and lovely to see the regulars on here and newbies too!
  2. Hello everyone really gusty in Portsmouth and some nutter is letting off fireworks!
  3. Very weird just had loudest thunder so far but seems to be to the south of me maybe its intensifying the further inland it gets
  4. Another couple of lightening flashes and large raindrops now no thunder though
  5. Hi all just seen a flash of lightening and heard faint thunder in distance from top room in pompey. Just started raining too Hi all just seen a flash of lightening and heard faint thunder in distance from top room in pompey. Just started raining too

  7. Met Office has removed their yellow warning for Sunday now - but still showing for Monday at the moment.
  8. Nothing here and we'll be in the big gap when this shower has moved on so that's it for me - night all
  9. I'm also sitting in the dark lol but despite the rain getting heavier there are no more signs of any stormy activity; only had distant lightening anyway. Still seems plenty in the channel but not sure they'll be electrified either so off to bed soon I think (but with the curtains and window open, just in case!!)
  10. Evening all, just seen a bit of lightning here, no thunder though and it's spitting. Nothing more exciting to report unfortunately.
  11. Well I might not be getting any storms but cant complain as I'm off to a bbq in the glorious sunshine.
  12. I know how you feel and I should feel grateful for the sun we have here but we rarely get snow on the coast and now storms seem to be going the same way. Last night we didn't get excitement from storms instead contending with neighbours having party, kicking cars and fighting resulting in police everywhere. Great. At least a storm would have kept them inside.
  13. You deserve a good storm Jane Louise I hope you get one overhead! It's been quiet on the far south coast too. Good luck everyone
  14. :cray: Oh Jane, I know how you felt as I was at work in Southampton when my boss (who was working from home in Pompey, usually it's my work from home day) AND my other half emailed to say they were having the best storm in Pompey they'd ever seen while I saw absolutely nothing! Like you I'd been excited yesterday only to feel well and truly pee'd off today as these conditions only come round once every few years it seems..... Let's hope for another plume soon, no cap and the radar positively buzzing from Southampton westwards!
  15. A chap advised me that the cold front is 100 miles or so to our west but its starting to introduce the forcing in the amosphere that has been lacking so far so might bode well for those further east I reckon!
  16. You're in Waterlooville aren't you? I'm in Horndean and just noticed some nice clouds rolling in too - they look similar to the ones I've seen in pics denoting mid level instability - not sure if they'll come to anything but nice to look at in the darkening sky!
  17. Hi all, the sun's starting to come out here now (finally) and I haven't written off going up to Portsdown Hill a bit later to see if there's any lightning going on. If anyone's interested in joining me let me know. Thanks
  18. Hi stormforce! If only Monday/Tuesday's outlook was for this weekend I'd be in the car right now! We're close but not close enough
  19. I don't think we're in luck along the south coast to be honest - lovely clouds but that's about it!
  20. Probably - just got another shower fired up here, at least the clouds are great to look at whizzing past!
  21. Maybe the south east/Kent areas will be more prone to thunder judging from earlier posts but as it's early yet it's difficult to tell I guess.
  22. Just had a very heavy short shower that seemed to come out of nowhere - really gusty with great clouds but no thunder.
