  1. Well a lot of very very heavy rain for us next week then; pretty much nailed on now so I'm finally stopping my snowsearch and will return to these forums when the weather gets interesting again (thunderstorms anyone?). Midlands look like they're going to get our early January episode and then some this week, lucky things! Bye all,
  2. 50 acres? I need at least a 100 acre plot to fit all my supercars in together with my football pitch and very own runway for my private jet! All bright here now, maybe we'll get a few more showers which may turn to actual snow as the temperature dips, but depends on the intensity of the showers I think. From what I can gather on the other threads, latest run shows rain for us again next week (although more northern areas of our region should do ok). I got excited this morning because someone mentioned a channel low for Wednesday but apparently it's not going to come off now..... Actually, I don't know why I got excited really because I don't know what they are but it sounded impressive!!
  3. Maybe the models are struggling because the south coast (from Land's End to Margate) will get 1.5 foot of snow complete with blizzards, thunderstorms and the odd water spout by Wednesday night!
  4. And me!! Lovely skies here now after our hailstorm - hope it's on its way to you now!
  5. We've got hail here - but I think you're a bit further inland than me; you're right, let's enjoy the wintriness while we can!
  6. Hopefully they'll be more wintry inland - it's rain here (she falls over in shock lol!)
  7. Pleased to see people are seeing some snow albeit briefly! We've got, you guessed it, rain! lol - typical Edit: heavier shower just arrived with hail now so at least something different to rain!
  8. A couple of interesting bits and pieces on the south west thread this morning, apparently a channel low looked possible for Wednesday but doesn't look like that now after a different run (or something technical like that!). Still lots of uncertainty that's for sure. Think I'll avoid weather forums/forecasts and get my all weather pack ready i.e. swimming costume, wellies, hot flask, shovel (as my outlier!), sunglasses and see what awaits me when I open the front door lol!
  9. I'm with you on that one! Us extreme southerners are not best placed I'm afraid unless things take a rather dramatic turn! What frustrates me the most is the 'potential' not coming to fruition i.e. all that wasted PPN lol!
  10. Just watched a sci-fi movie about ice tornados so I'm in the mood for some great weather lol! Really hope something comes off for us southerners next week! I think I'll stay here for my info rather than the model thread as I'm fed up of reading 'wet in the south, mild in the south, flooding in the south lol!' They might be right but it's like groundhog day sometimes.....I'd rather be dry than truckloads of rain though!
  11. I love this little thread even if it's the least used lol! I also post in the southwest/southeast ones too when it's quiet here so I won't leave entirely! TBH, I adore the sea, all my family live in a 10 mile radius of Pompey so I'll probably end up going West Sussex/North Hants way if we can afford the house prices!
  12. Lol Kent! I just swam back from the gym in the heaviest rain shower we've had all day!! Not even hail or thunder to liven things up a bit! Looking to move out of Portsmouth in the medium term, perhaps further inland in line with my partner's job; I shall choose an area that's had the most weather warnings lol so that won't be Hampshire then....... But....at least we got a Red warning in January; that was pretty special!
  13. I share your frustrations! I think it's curtain call for the south central thread, unless everyone wants to discuss heavy rain on Monday (yet another snow advisory for most places on Mon except us far southern lot lol!)
  14. I already have! And as I knew it, the met office have put out an early advisory for heavy snow for a wide area for Monday, but not us of course. That will change though, we'll get one for heavy rain!
  15. Wow! It really is snowing in Cardiff big time!! Enjoy....
  16. Wasn't it meant to be really windy on 21/22nd? BBC has heavy rain for us here but lightish winds. I don't mind rain if it's accompanied with strong winds. My friend's daughter wants me to take her to the seafront next time we get windy conditions so she can see the big waves (she complained yesterday that they weren't big enough lol)
  17. Raining here too despite it feeling chilly outside - just seen a great vid that someone posted on the southwest thread of huge flakes of snow!
  18. Super stuff!! Thanks very much for sharing that; I loved the clock chiming as well, so peaceful! We had flakes like that in early January which carried on for about 6 hours hence a lot of snow accumulation! Thanks again.
  19. Don't worry - I've got rain here too. If anyone posts any pics so at least I can see some snow that would be great - the bigger flakes the better - cheers!
  20. Great to hear snow reports from my south west neighbours!! Enjoy and take care everyone
  21. Channel low would be good but positioning is crucial! If it's too far north we get the rain with the midlands getting loads of snow and too far south France will cop it! Will it? Won't it? I might just turn the PC off, not watch the weather and see what happens on the day lol!
  22. That would be fab especially as it's my birthday!!! What a great present that would be but feet still firmly on the ground here....
  23. I don't hold out much hope either being right on the coast, if anything perhaps north hants might catch something but as for us, think it's a no go (apart from some rain perhaps). Saying that as I was throwing stones into the sea today and enjoying the sunshine I thought who needs snow? lol
  24. Well I'm pleasantly surprised to have beautiful blue skies and sunshine instead of the heavy rain that was forecast (had enough of that yesterday!) I might not have snow prospects but I'm going to take advantage of living on the coast and go for a walk along the seafront
  25. Bless you. I know exactly what you mean, I get affected too by programmes and even films can really get to me sometimes.
