  1. Hi PB, we've just had a short shower in Portsmouth but gone now! I love Cyprus especially the abandoned city in Famagusta which is very spooky to look at through the wire fences! Talking of spooky and completely unweather related, mum's just phoned to say that a candle holder has fallen over in the lounge and then a CD case started moving by itself (witnessed by mum and dad). I blamed it on the slightly breezy conditions! Now I can hear noises from the kitchen, but it's probably the cat!
  2. Hi everyone, Sunday again (the weekend goes too quickly!) I've been watching the raintoday radar with interest because although we seem to be lucky enough to miss the rain I think I can see some squall lines so I wonder if that's been of any interest to anyone caught in it. The model thread doesn't fill me with much inspiration so I've been looking at holidays instead, Cyprus for us this year
  3. Evening everyone! Hope all is well. I love CF's and GTLTW's above posts. I think it must be the wine but they've made me giggle uncontrollably and now I'm in tears - even though there's no snow around this thread makes me laugh and smile whatever the weather!
  4. Great news! Just looked at the radar and we're lucky that it seems to have been more westerly in nature otherwise my pending journey on the M27 would not be fun! It's mega heavy so those that see the transient snow will certainly be happy! At least it's Friday and this time tomorrow I'll still be asleep
  5. LOL - the advisories for our area have gone now as expected too. It was cold today but at least it stopped for rush hour getting home. Can't wait for the next batch of boring water from the sky
  6. Oh me too - I can't wait - have you seen that lovely lot coming in on the radar as we speak - I'm so excited I can't keep my eyes off the lampost I think it was about this time last year that we had that fabulous snow event - shame we've got the PPN this time round but the wrong temperatures, never mind!
  7. Hello! Had a few flakes of snow in Southampton today but nothing much. Just seen the local forecast and we've got truckloads of rain to look forward to which will turn to snow north of the M4 - typical.
  8. Morning, Well I just had my breakfast and looked outside. There was some sleet going on! Not a lot admitedly but it definitely was (I held a black tray outside to check; the neighbours must have thought I was bonkers).
  9. Hello all, Did you have a nice xmas? Hope so - we've got snow here in the midlands. Now normally I'd be very excited (and I am) but it's getting heavy and my car is useless in the snow with all these hills. I'll bring some back with me if I can! :smiliz34:
  10. Evening all, I'd like a raging easterly with constant PPN producing nothing but snow. Well unfortunately nothing like that is on the cards so ho hum. Anyway, I'm off to more northerly parts tomorrow for Christmas. No snow forecast at the moment but there is lying snow so I'll have a white Xmas of sorts hopefully and it'll be very cold (near Buxton). Have a great Xmas everyone! :smiliz19:
  11. Evening all, I hate this awful rain!!! I have to say I was delighted to be at work today (Chilworth at bottom of M3) - it snowed beautifully for a few hours, really heavy sometimes too - the office closed early as it was really coming down and I got back to Pompey to rain. And it's still raining...... to make matters worse, imagine how much snow that would have produced (oh those further inland don't have to imagine lol) Ahr well, a night of the soaps for me instead :smiliz19:
  12. A couple of rain showers in Portsmouth about half hour ago with a couple of rumbles of thunder but all clear now, boring!
  13. Still very cloudy here - not sure if the sun will come out and get activity going (knowing our luck probably not!) Still, it might be dry when I go to football but I'd still prefer a storm!
  14. Well we might have only had rain here today but it's the third night in a row of clear skies. Just been outside (3rd night running) and been treated to lovely shooting stars again.
  15. I'm still in the no storms club. Missed the little bit of thunder Portsmouth had because I was at work in Southampton. Typical - stormy for this region but I missed it (or it missed me).
  16. Hi all, we've got very heavy rain in Southampton but no thunder or lightening, nice to see rain though!
  17. Well just had torrential rain when I went a few miles north of Portsmouth - very refreshing but bone dry back here in Pompey!
  18. Well I know there's nothing forecast down here but blimey, it looks stormy outside - fantastic dark clouds and so humid. If only lol ........
  19. Was meant to work from home today but went into the office in Southampton - heavens opened there and Portsmouth had a bit of thunder (not much but hey ho) - typical that I missed it! Now it's just sunny and humid again, boring
  20. Morning all, Just got to Southampton for work and the heavens opened - shame there was no thunder to go with it!!
  21. I'm trying hard to see the benefits of lovely warm sunny days with no rain or storms lol
  22. Don't worry - I live in Hampshire on the coast and I don't think there's a chance of even a rumble so you're not alone!! I used to think that living down here was good for storms.........
  23. Hi all, Lovely day here and in Southampton where I work - doesn't look like any stormy weather for us in the near future though, ho hum!!
  24. Hi all, I'd definitely be interested, haven't been storm chasing at all so think this would be a good place to start. If this takes off, count me in! Thanks
