A couple of areas to look at on the satellite. Here are screen grabs from 12.00 in 15 minute intervals until 13.45.
Areas of note:
1. Circled red is our Baltic streamer which seem much delayed and making very slow progress across the North Sea. This looks to be merging with the snow circled blue, which is moving slowly SW. This snow once converged could make landfall somewhere North Yorks/North East and enhance shower snowfall tonight.
2. Area circled yellow is moving west and seems to be feeding the snow around The Wash/Norfolk/Lincolnshire and could enhance shower activity across Norfolk, Lincolnshire through this afternoon/evening.
Us in a gap?

Craigers are you thinking same with that streamer of the coast for later this evening?
@LeeSnowFan Simiar to what's happening now but bigger bands and low temps ofcourse. Im just thinking when temps drop then the showers might pick up and clump together upto 12am

Although the radar is showing gaps in showers near Rorherham its not stopped snowing for half hour as convction is filling in gaps between the showers. A sure sign of convergence and showers merging that is too quick to be picked up by the radar.
Absolute dream start here in Rotherham bang in the sweet spot!
Looks like both of us will be at this rate! Massive echos for North of the amber warning!

Slightly frustrating morning of Radar watching, see the snow showers piling in from the North East only for them to slip South of my location or completely evaporate about 5 miles away only to reinvigorate to the WSW when it’s passed through! So still just a dusting here with the Barnsley snow shield apparently in full operation!
Give it chance! Were more in the streamer now

Thats me this morning! my daughter wont be happy, she only gets a delayed start, school opening at 10am haha
I've had to do the morning run too. I can see Barnsley being in this streamer now if you look at the radar! Watch the schools shut in next 2 hours

Haha mate you are only 1mile down road and no amber for here. But its upgraded despite the slow start if that forecast is right. The streamer seems to be hitting barnsley now and back building l

Still think that warning of the amber will extend northwards through the day as per EURO 00Z update. Today will be the best radar watching day ever

Look at the radar now! Lots of heavy echos now and proper snow coming down!
Clumping together nicely and the streamer from Kent is bumping into ours making it more East / North East flow

Not worth checking now with it being a radar event
