Dry powder snow here with convective gusts!

Let's hope we all get a temporary covering from these showers! April is always fat flakes but this spell will be so different with powder snow

Got down to -1.3c last night but it's glorious out there now. Already 14c so higher than meto prediction for here already!
Hard to believe the change coming for tomorrow!
Couldn't believe it got down to -1.7c 6am this morning. Next 3 nights will be -2c. Bet the lake behind our house might ice over by Wednesday

Agreed. Very similar here.
Think back to how excited we were this time last week expecting a dumping of snow and freezing days. I still can't quite understand why it wasn't as good as mar 13 or 18, when it's happened a few weeks earlier. Big shame!
One thing is for sure though, it's been a learning experience. Next time we see -12s on an easterly and everyone saying in the mod thread is going to be ice days and buried in deep snow I'm not going to just believe it now. We've seen this week it isn't always the case.
Hopefully the next chance will deliver as we know they can!
Totally agree! It was like a dead cert for usual locations but shown how different it was.

Is it just here been absurdly windy this evening, we have had gusts to 60mph and it's still nearly -3
The drifting higher up especially must be insane. Windchill -13 an hour ago
Earlier:My favourite part about snow! This video is great thank you

Didn't manage an ice day here unfortunately

I think with this easterly the wind streams haven't been straight off the North sea with the kinks pointing more north east inland causing showers to die off.
06z would be a different story with the flow being streamline and would be so much better.
Also risk of this happening sooner with the flatliners on this graph 2m temps.

Not a great reader of charts!! But Scandinavian high, cold air undercut???
Pretty much we just need this to show more on the future runs now and gain traction. Need the low to the west to dig deeper south to aid lift
