There's definitely chance coming up to Christmas for somewhere in the North of England northwards to see a significant spell of snow. So while Sunday is looking like a dud there's more chances.
Thats the GEM chart I posted earlier!

The way that streamer set up just north of Carlisle is a thing of beauty.
Any part of our region, inland a bit with bit of altitude, gets one of those overnight 3 or 4 inch ain't out the question.
ECM shows this too

I remember it really well. I was 19 and had been working at a place in Bingley for a year. Started raining early afternoon. I remember walking home at 2:30 pm and the rain started turning icy. I got home around 2:55 and the odd big flake started to fall in with the icy rain. Ten minutes later, chaos ensued. Thick big flakes and could hardly see the end of the street. Stayed pretty much like that for 3/4 hours then turned light but carried on until 10/11 pm then faded. One of the best snowfalls.
Also remember one around 96/97 where a big area of snow moved in on a Saturday morning (early) from the continent se to nw.
I remember this living in Doncaster with the snow drifting up and down the street then the power going out!

Those lows seem to be getting confused and complicated over the Atlantic. I'm off to Morocco this Saturday for a week's surf trip. Is the models under doing the low pressures? There were some big ones predicted from this Sunday

Will it pivot for us though?

The low is much further north than forecasted. The band was supposed to be traveling along the humber line. North and west Yorkshire getting it all!
