-
Only joking!!!! Lol I'm not that crazy!!!!

Right, I've just arrived near the brecon beacons. My w.end walking and camping begins! Hoping to get a few snow pics. Just hope my tent doesn't leak!

Temp 2C, Currently light rain/sleet. Getting worried. I wish this horrible little feature would blow away and let the temps go down before the real PPN comes in! Its made the temps go up, plus the surfaces are wet which means any snow won't settle as quick! ggrrrr

I completely agree Chris. At this stage I don't pay much attaention to TV Forecasts. They never get it completely right. I remeber Feb 09 they said it would clear by 11.00am and we had prolonged snow showers for the rest of the day. I suspect some of us will get larger totals than expectedNow we are coming up to the actual event, the Radar/window will be the only place to see how much snow is falling/might fall. The Met warnings are the best broad signal but within that there will be variations that the models would never pick up.
I wouldn't be surprised to see localised accumulations exceeding the Mets warning figures.

GURT LUSH!!!Mondays best chart for the Westcountry! Anything within the 0 contour is 100% snow.
Quite remarkable really that after tonights/tomorrows event we have the risk of even more snow, lush!

I'm sooo excited I feel like a 10 year old again! Just been to Argos to get a couple of new sledges, and let a itttle bit of wee out in the que! lol
ALL ABOARD THE SNOW TRAIN!!!!!!!!
-
That looks like 1.5 - 2 inches to me?6 inches.
-
Same in Warminster, although flakes starting to come down now! How do you think we will fair tomorrow? I think at least 10cm?Its raining here in Frome. Not snow or sleet just rain, not heavy. I think it`ll change to snow though as winds swing S.E ahead of the main frontal system coming in.

Good Michael fish forecast ........"someone just called up the met office and said there's a Blizzard on the way.........there isn't"
Sorry, thought I was in the regional thread!!Think you've got the wrong thread here
-
I think at least 10cm for us in Warminster, with large drifts!! Just off to Argos to get a new sledge! It's going to be a fun w.end!!
-
huzzah!!!!! Just heard Bill Farkin on the radio saying there was a Blizzard on the way!!!
-
well, after all this Snow coming my way I might be sick of it by March. Especially after a Skiing Holiday to Valdesere. I just hope Charles and Willy don't throw snow balls at the Volvo, I had it cleaned by the local Polish car valeters twice last week, before driving it to my country weekend retreat in Surrey.

I would just like to apologise to Ian F, for my comment earlier. It was not intended to offend. I like the way you present, and prefer forecasters with a bit of personality in any case.
-
But Ian F also forecast a chance of snow for the weekend last week and said "It could be quite bothersome". But we didn't get any snow!!
It really is pointless commenting on possible snow chances for Friday, when its only MONDAY today!!!
-
Well as there is no hope of cold in the near future, I suppose heavy rain and flooding is the next exciting thing we can hope for.
-
Right, that's it. I've had enough of this. Can't stand looking at the models any longer. I'm taking a break. See you in the New Year. Happy xmas everyone
-
"Best From the East" lol - they think it's all over...............it is now!
I'm dreaming of a Mild Christmas, just like the ones i've always known. Where the Trees are blowing and the rain is flowing like childrens tear drops from the sky, the sky
Bah Humbug

What is wrong with this chart?
Nothing if you like wind and rain!
-
Sorry I know this is off model topic, but someone asked what the BEAST looked like

Hello Great Britain, my name is Mr Easterly, can I come in please? My Dad (Mr Beasterly) with be joing us in the next couple of days, to bring lots of snow and bitterly cold temps to all you lovely people. It may mean you get snowed in and not get to work, is that ok?This will probably get missed amongst the colour, but excellent fax:
Easterly by Monday?

I don't know how this Country would cope if that were to come off! I wouldn't mind finding out though!! LOLSteve
Now this is utter perfection.....it can't get better.......................YES IT CAN WHEN ITS T24 !!!! I experienced Jan 87 folks and this chart usurps that and I tell you Jan 1987 was unbelievable.
Look at this
Yummy.....right now lets get sensible here...its too good isn't it?

Hello peeps! Wow, what a day! Started preparing for today a couple of days ago. Went out and bought my girlfriend and I a couple of new sledges yesterday, and did the weekend shopping. Spent much of last night looking at the radar and next door neighbours outside lIght. Fell asleep at 1am, then woke up at 3am to find a snowless roof! Then fell back to sleep and woke up again at 4am, looked out, and it had began! Then fell back to sleep and woke up at 6.30 like a little boy on Xmas day, looked out and I reckon we had a couple of inches by then. Woke my girlfriend up and made a cup of tea, lit the fire, and we had bacon sandwiches and coffee. Took the dogs for a walk up on the hills near Salisbury plain, and it was chucking it down. (if this doesn't say cockroft when referring to a bbc forecaster, I have maturity issues) Cocka Spanish had snowballs attached to her legs, so gave her a warm bath when we got home. Homemade soup for lunch then time for a spot of afternoon sledging, mulled wine, and a snowball fight!! Back home to cook a Jamie Oliver 15 min meal, which took me an hour! (but who cares when your sipping a g&t), ate that with a couple of glasses of Red wine, and now absolutely knackered!!! A red letter day! Hope everyone else had a good one
