Are those the old orange streetlights you have? God, I miss them for snow watching.
Miss those. Good times

had an additional 3 inches in the last hour. This is a significant event.
the fact that wales smashed the coldest march day on record is awesome. Most of wales today was colder that any part of the UK has ever recorded in March. With gale force wind as well.

yep. It's started. Earlier than forecast last night. Immediate coverage as expected with -7c. Not going to get above -3/-4 today whilst blowing a 45mph gale. Quite unbelievable. Can't recall anything like that. And its 1st March.
happy St David's day!

Interesting comment from Ian Fergusson re. possible snow depths
Down comes the snow in North #Somerset... settling instantly as expected. Liquid to snow ratio typically 10:1 but with this type of snow, prob closer to 15:1. Model snow amounts can thus be underplayed (for once!) in this type of set-up.

Moving up the "likely" matrix - could be a red warning by later tonight/early tomorrow morning!
Ye. The impact is already on the max to its just the likelihood. If that firms up then its a red

This is how I remember 1982. Amazing. I was not quite 4 years old. Huge drifts up to and over garage roofs. Might be the closest we've seen to this since then
