Matt Taylor on R4 weather forecast: 40cm in Peak/ Pennines, with drifting and blizzards, peak risk this evening and overnight.
Then he said many areas in Grtr Manchester, Merseyside and Lancashire might see “precious little”. His exact words!
Thats killed the mood stone dead!
Don't know were he's getting that from..my location in Lancashire is right on the border of the Amber warning.

Mate, go on the Met office website weather map. They have Blackburn right in the sweet spot for snow.
Also at this range, met office weather app is mostly always accurate and it is showing light snow through the night and tomorrow morning for Blackburn area.
I've seen it pal..that's what worries me..its always wrong for here

What happens? Has something already happened?
Absolute nonsense
Yes something has happened.
Yet again the models have indicated a good cold spell, ..then backtracked as we get closer.

The severe cold spell of February 1991 – Wanstead Meteo
WANSTEADMETEO.COMThe cold spell of February 1991 saw unusually deep snowfall in central London. The 20cm recorded at St James’s Park on the 8th was the greatest cover recorded at the site...Glad I can't remember this..looks like most of northwest missed out..easterly syndrome.

Showers on Friday look heavy and prolonged however as usual the flow looks far too westerly for any streamer to set up through Buxton bar a few showers or if the flow diverges more northerly for a time. Those from North Manchester, through Blackburn / Burnley / forest of Bowland and up towards Hawes look better placed for some beefy & prolonged sleet / snow showers.
Liking the sound of that...but with it being a couple of days off I expect that to change as usual to a few isolated showers or sleet .

Right that’s it. Ignoring the mod thread for a few hours. Some outrageously stupid posts on the last few pages.
It's pathetic in there recently..never read as much imby centric crap and drivel in my life.

Is there not a danger that the low could be so far south by Saturday that we just end up cold and frosty not a bad consolation I suppose but not what 99% on here want from past experience that what normally happens and even on occasions the low goes into France and misses the UK al together.
I think that's exactly what's going to happen.

Seriously.. the amount of just rubbish in here.. why do people just jump on a run and not analyse properly.
seriously thinks mods should consider closing a thread until runs are fully out!!really puts a downer when there is conflicting information!
Yes..something needs to be done...only a handful of posters doing it as well ..spoiling it for us all.
