For many but not all...cant see it getting up into lancs and cumbria. -

I fear that will be way off the mark come Friday...south and southern areas of the midlands to get the heavy snow I reckon.

Close to despair here....just absolutely stained glass windowing typical that we miss out AGAIN...every ppn chart I see has that bustard hole over Lancashire..as for Friday that can do one aswell..front wont even get here............there I feel better after a good rant.

Amber warning for our Cumbrians Strange if you go on met website it says amber warning for nw England..yet the graphic shows us..or some of us in yellow...its the northeast that's amber on the graphic.

Theres no doubt the severe cold is coming...but snow?

The 18z blizzard is unlikely to reach here...theres a good chance it wont even reach the uk...most experts saying it will track into france...still have this nagging doubt that we wont get much snow from an easterly.

Do you reckon that low coming up from the south on ecm would reach us...if it does we will be buried.

Hasnt dissapeared its just further up over central norway...i think thats the same low anyway. -

Hope your right SP but my experience of easterlies are we miss out on the snow....cant recall an easterly as powerful as this one though.

I feel your pain...going to be absolutley unbearable ..i shall be giving this site..the news and all social media a wide berth until its over.

Admire your optimism..but i fear a period of envy and frustration upcoming...thats what usually happens in an easterly.

Think the mod thread is going to explode with excitement soon.....anyone got a few daisy cutter bombs to flatten the pennines with then we can share in the fun too.

With this looking like a possible repeat of 1987 can anyone remember how that affected our region, im guessing the snow missed us as easterlies are crap for here.

Chicken soup is very much awake....and delighted to say i was wrong ..just been for a walk to shop ...lovely to feel the crunchy snow underfoot...getting on for 2 inches now.
