  1. Our "neighbouring" threads seem a bit less enthusiastic. This is definitely the thread to be in tonight.
  2. I'm soooooooooooo tired, but want to see these big snowflakes, so will do my best to stay up.
  3. Blimey Matt. I'm going to have to stay up to see that (if the monsters stay that big)
  4. I have a local temperature of -0.2c and dp of -2.3c. Can someone give me a reminder of what's good and what may be not so good. Ta
  5. nooooooooooo, I don't want yellow and red. I want red and yellow.
  6. I took a break away from the tension to watch Lost and now I'm looking at 3 (free so delayed) radar sites and there's certainly a nice line developing to our West. It's got some nice red bits on the raintoday site and nice yellow bits on the meto one.
  7. Nantgarw (or Treforest Industrial Estate to be exact) by day, Caerphilly by night and weekends. Either one has a nice view of hills, so at least I get to see the snow on the top.
  8. No, we just think it's one of the best Indian takeaways around
  9. I had chicken malaya from Simla in Nelson. Top quality. Now I'm positioned to watch the snow come in - although I can still see stars and the moon in the sky.
  10. I've just been out to get my curry and the skies are clear and temps (according to car) are between 0 and 1 degrees. If I didn't have Andymusic's "guarantee" I wouldn't believe the snow is coming.
  11. tidy What time are we meeting to compare lamp posts? Or will it be past bedtime?
  12. So? Is tonight/tomorrow's snow a "cert" with these met office updates and the timeframe being in a few hours? Or are we still talking marginals and maybes?
  13. The google earth one is just a layer and shows great big green "clouds". It's cool when you change your orientation as the radar sits above the earth. There's also a cloud layer.
  14. I like to have the radar on on google earth. Can anyone tell me how up-to-date it is? Are we talking minutes or hours behind real time?
  15. Haha, so it wasn't Dan it was you. I prefer your edit.
  16. What is "light patchy steady snow"? I read "patchy" and think on and off. I read "steady" and think constant. Confused of Caerphilly
  17. Which direction are your showers coming from / going to? After your last mention I went looking out the window. but nothing. There were some stealth clouds flowing down Caerphilly mountain (from Cardiff way) and now there's some grey clouds coming over. I swear you have your own micro climate on the Graigerhorn.
  18. All of a sudden it's coming down heavy now. Slightly damp, but the first snow I've seen myself today.
  19. I'm home now, so here's my Caerphilly report. Snow line on Nantgarw Hill, just below the traffic lights (about 90m) on the grass It got a bit slushy in the gutters on the hill up to mine at about 150m. Looking over Caerphilly, there's snow on the fir trees by Caerphilly Golf Club from about 130m. And the snow has stopped now that I am here to enjoy it.
  20. I'm in Nantgarw (at 50m asl) working at the moment. The mountain is teasing me with the snow on it. Although I'm sure the snow line is getting higher as the lower fields are looking a bit more greener than earlier. My house is at about 150m in Caerphilly so I expect my garden will be looking nice.
  21. Yet again I report it's rubbish here Andy, will you borrow one of the Olympics trucks and bring me some of your "alleged " snow. It's just drizzle here with the temperature up a degree from earlier. Still, as long as I get home safe at 3:30 I'm happy enough with the wait until the weekend for some more (possible) snow.
  22. Sigh, still sleet here. But now the cloud has cleared I can see the hills and the snow level is about 120ish. Is this weather looking like staying a few moer hours?
  23. I declare an upgrade to heavy wet SLEET. If it wasn't for the Cardiff Bay webcam, I would accuse you all of telling me porkies.
