ive just seen a tweet from Matt Hugo saying that the strat is cooling still and it shows signs for a rubbish winter?? I havent looked at the thread this morning but I thought the strat was to be warming very slowly and that the signs were good? Im happy to bow to the more educated on this so please advise on thoughts (and not rip me to shreds lol)......

As we have said many times, get the cold first and the snow will come....I sound like kevin Costner (Whisper) if you get cold, Snow will come lol

The UK MO further outlook is suggesting well below temps which is nice to see from the cold lovers perspective. Fingers crossed they are on to something.....As ever with this roller coaster....patience.

Its actually quite dry here in Southwark today. The sun is creeping out from behind the coulds. All round a nice fresh day with a slight breeze....So far....

Ahh Perfect winter meal....what time is dinner? Im only 10 mins down the A1 lol.... Cloudy and damp in Sothwark today as i look towards the London Eye....Im told its the same in Hatfield where I live. I remember the storm, I was also in Essex, in Southend. I remember watching the sea and sand making the beach road look like part of the seashore. My old man had a rolls royce at the time and i remember laughing (sorry dad) my As* off watching the roof tiles dent the heck out of it....

There is of course some things we can almost guarentee. Winter will be colder than summer, some places in the UK will get snow at some point, some places will see below average temps and some above average, and there will be some wind and rain thrown in for good measure. Its all hopecasting at this stage. All we can do is look for consistent signs and hope it all falls into place..... Personally im hopeful of snowmageddon but I will be happy with anything more interesting than last years festive season....

Having a detailed look at the charts for the winter season, it seems to me that snow is very very likely, but also a high probability that it wont snow I also love this time of year. Wild winds, leaves turning, dark nights, winter breath, the first frosts, ice, clear crisp days and the argiung that tends to happen every year on NW with all of the regulars. And then of course theres the snow (raising eyebrows, Rob Mcelwee style) Bring on the winter season. And may i be the first to say. Merry Christmas all lol

Rant Rant Rant..... Still no storm in Hatfield for months....so tired of seeing storms everywhere else. Now it looks like Weds storm possibilities are going to be pushing up from France into the extreme south coast but will they come up as far as me...I doubt it....Bored now.

Its definately getting darker in the mornings. I have been up at 5 every day during the Olympics for travel reasons and it has been noticiably darker as the weeks have gone on....

wow 200 deg C already and its only 8:30..... Seriously though, its a lovely fine morning in London town and more to come this week....so sad to be in the office all week...enjoy it those of you that can...
