  1. Morning everyone

Well what a difference 24hrs makes!!!!  All calm here with a slight breeze, unlike yesterday morning where a dramatic hail storm, thunder and lightning woke me up in a state of panic, great to experience whilst cosy in my bed though.

The last few weeks have been so interesting weather wise both here and in North America, with some beautiful photos coming through but I really do feel for those that are struggling with the concequences. Here's hoping they get a bit of a resbite for a few days, although models are looking interesting again for next week.

In 1998 I went to Ottawa, months after a great ice and snow storm, the damage was incredible. Trees broken for miles around and massive power pylons and cables bent in two or just lying on the ground, an incredible sight to see, such damage.

I bought a book whilst there with amazing pictures of the storm. Mother nature really does deserve respect.

  2. Yeay, just started snowing here in Yelverton. It's my mums birthday tomorrow and I remember a few times when it snowed on that day.

Was also thinking back to the 80's, when I was bridesmaid on April 23rd at a wedding in Evesham. Wore summer dresses and had to walk to the church as the cars couldn't get through, Brrrr!!!

    Light snow ... in Plymouth!

Well that doesn't happen very often in Plymouth, especially in April!!!
  3. Same here BOD, went to Chagford for breakfast, was bitterly cold in the wind but a beautiful sight with flakes glistening in the hazy sunshine (very poetic don't you think? ).

Nice to hear that some folk have actually seen a few flakes today, some posters such as jessandjon and those in Cornwall have had such a frustrating winter/spring, hope Twister Girl gets to see something as well.

  4. It means a cold weather alert, of which we do have a yellow one.

Well guys, i guess I will keep the faith a little longer then.

Who am I kidding, i've been following the forum for the last 5 years or so and I'm not likely to quit any year soon.

Model , radar and lampost watching is facinating stuff. I have learnt so much over the years, it just becomes more addictive. However, after the last few years and all it's disappointments, I have learnt to keep my expectations low.

I have an Auto-immune disease which prevents me from going out in the sun, so Im afraid I wont be praying for a heatwave but I do hope for a warm (not hot!!) rest of spring before we roll into the endless damp that we call summer.

Just to keep on topic, still bone dry and blustery here,(really must get myself a weather station me thinks).
