  1. And it finally turns to snow just as the precipitation is running out. Sure this was supposed to happen the other way around
  2. Erm... Nope. It has been trying its hardest to turn to snow this last 15 mins though
  3. What part of South Cheshire are you from? Gives me some hope it may turn here soon.
  4. I wouldn't be so sure about that. I think it was the Feb 09 event that started off as heavy rain here and then switched to snow. Within an hour we had a full covering of a few cm's
  5. Has to have a certain wind speed with it I think, I can't remember what that is though. Edit. 35mph after a quick google search.
  6. I'd of thought so, infact it usually is. Really strange goings on tonight it has to be said. Upper temps must be slightly higher.
  7. Well if you go off the All Hallows School weather station its, 1c with a -1c Dewpoint...
  8. Could well be changing. Just had a look out and my road has a covering of slush all over it, that wasn't there 20 mins ago
  9. Indeed this doesn't happen very often. Very sleety mind you and the fresh deposits on cars are still present but I can't see it getting any better now. Oh well, at least the FA cup game vs Wigan should be on tomorrow. That's if it isn't flooded instead...
  10. We have less than half of that. Rare that happens, usually the other way around. So close yet so far away...
  11. Just been out for a walk. Around 5cm in the more sheltered spots. The icy snow remaining from Monday on pavements has led to it being very slippery in places with the new snow on top...
  12. If it can continue creeping north east we should get into the heavier snow. Can't see it stopping anytime soon.
  13. I woke up not expecting it to be over me yet. But we have a lot of small flakes blowing around here. Probably not far off getting heavier. No idea how much has built up since yesterday evenings snow as its drifting around quite a bit already.
  14. Had a few flakes of snow about 45 mins ago, now got a very light sleety mix thats been on and off since.
  15. Brett Adair might be about to get one, loads of rotation visible http://content.wdtinc.com/popout/index.php?M=10209&C=20226&O=10216
  16. Good aerial, live footage from a helicopter camera http://video.foxnews...d=1155606982001 Kris Hair has a large tornado on the ground, heading for Greenville http://content.wdtinc.com/popout/index.php?M=10164&C=20226&O=10255
  17. I had the same problem, clearing my Cache did the trick. Similar thing happened a couple of weeks ago and the solution was the same.
  18. A video of the Dexter, MI tornado. Perhaps the most laid back people ever to watch a tornado? http://cdn.nwstatic.co.uk/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.png
  19. I use http://www.tornadovideos.net/full-screen-chaser-video.php for a basic radar and streams. Can slow down your browser a bit I find. http://www.intellicast.com/Local/WxMap.aspx?weather=hdRadarSmoothPaletteA is another good radar. http://stormscapelive.com/ is really good too, Michael Phelps on there interacts really well with people in the chat (I've learnt a lot from his streams over the last year) and is one of the best out there I've found.
  20. Yeah I watched Micheal Phelps, who does StormscapeLive, last year doing a tour of one of his first ever chases. Off the top of my head it was the Andover F5 1991 event. But it hit a mobile home park, which I gather are quite common in the US. The storm shelter they had built there could only fit around half the people who lived there in it. And even now years after, the same park still has the same storm shelter and the same would happen again should another tornado come tearing through. Would not like to live out there without a shelter of some form. Seems its quite common though still. After some brain bashing and googling and google maps/streetview, it was the Andover F5. This little shelter for some many people http://g.co/maps/23sfw
  21. Bit more news on her, http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/03/03/baby-found-alone-in-indiana-field-after-storms/ Sole survivor of a family of 5 it now seems.
  22. Not sure if anyones seen this http://www.wcpo.com//dpp/weather/weather_news/toddler-found-alone-in-indiana-field-after-devastating-tornadoes http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/2012/0303/The-baby-in-the-cornfield-Tales-of-tiny-tornado-survivors Heard this story break last night but didn't know at the time she was found 10 miles from home. Quite a miracle if she makes it through it.
  23. Charles Edwards looking at a mean looking storm, lots of lightning visible on cam http://content.wdtinc.com/popout/index.php?M=10164&C=20226&O=10190
