Moderate snow!!!
Brilliant - glad you’re seeing something more, and that the radar isn’t completely lying either! ?

Not all of the showers are though still going here been snowing since 2 this afternoon now. I guess the actual precipitation is up to Chester/Ellesmere Port maybe a bit further north?
That’s the problem, the radar for everything from the midlands northwards doesn’t look definite.

I think it’s all anoprop.

Is the strengthening wind because the centre of emma is further NE, squeezing the air over the top of it?
-
That wind must be gusting at least 60mph at times. Worst it’s been today.

With gusts like this I'm struggling to tell where it's light snow or this powder snow blowing about in the wind.
Surely if everything's further east than forecast, we should have much chance of catching decent snow as it pivots towards Ireland? Seems as though that isn't the case so far?
There’s too much of a rain shadow happening so far. Radar looks really messy and doesn’t seem to be telling a true story.

It is yes! My house literally on opposite side!
Same - got the odd flake whizzing past the lamp post at 50mph haha.
-
the m62 looks like the northern boundary of this at the moment..
-
YOu can see the rain shadow effect on the radar.
-
Amber warning for the SW has moved a bit further NE, so maybe Emma is encroaching a bit further northwards?
-
I think that’s it now for the west of the region. Tomorrow doesn’t look exciting either.

Northern edge of the front seems to be making steady progress towards Preston on radar, it's light snow but with the eastward extend potential for something a bit more interesting later.
It’s not snowing at all here.

Yeah it is the flakes aren't massive but it's added a couple of cms this afternoon here and more will probably stick tonight.
Really hope t gets here. I’m right on the edge of it and have been for the last hour. I may just be too North.

IS The stuff in Cheshire on the radar actually that heavy? I’m back from the meeting and seem to be right on the edge all of that snow. It looks like snow outside but it’s doing nothing.

Yes it does, bigger flakes are starting to fall now and it does feel darker. Hopefully this is the start of the reinvigorating of the band? Maybe our friends with the posh app could update us?
It just needs to fill in a little further north haha!

Snap
Haha brilliant! This will be very interesting if it does. The sky looks snowier than it did this morning, and the wind is horrendous!
-
The band seems to be filling in more in south Cheshire and Staffordshire.
-
I’m not too overly confident for the next few days, it seems most of the worst will slide into the SW and then Ireland.
-
Wind has got much stronger.
-
BBC just say that the snow in the midlands should intensify.

BBC doesn’t show much snow for here tonight.

So further east is getting snow, and further west is, and here I am. Stuck in the middle. ?
