Band on the radar pushing up north in about 2-3h anyone?
No idea - that band seems much further north than forecasts indicated

That band of snow is way north and stretches further east than I saw on the BBC yesterday?

Snow seems to be gradual intensifying here. More and more flakes coming down.
Fingers crossed it’ll blow just a bit further west, say another 20 miles so everyone can have it lol

Don't anyone ever tell me Easterlies don't deliver in the north west.
Only if you’re in the east ??

Radar is either lying or the snow is blowing all the way here from those showers. Only annoyance value, but it’s nice to see.

The precip this morning seems way more widespread than what the BBC were hinting at last night. They said eastern Scotland would have snow, and the SW do the UK today, but most of England has snow too.

It has here!! Winter wonderland! Went to bed at 2130 and we have about 2” snow on ground
Big difference to here. Only a covering on pavements, maybe 1cm?

IT looks like there has been a significant difference between the east and west of the region. Showers had died out as they’ve crossed as it doesn’t look like any more snow has fallen here. Wind is howling.
metoffice for here only has a spell of snow forecast tonight around midnight with that being it until next week, when it’s milder! Could be that the west of NW England and Cumbria could be the areas with the least snow in the whole country from this, unless things change.
-
Metoffice have gone right off haha. Said a less than 5% risk of snow tonight and it’s snowed on and off the last 2 hours!

I actually think that the radar is struggling with the echoes due to the extremely low temps. Look at 7:00, then 7:05. Everything lowers in intensity within 1 frame.
-
also, what’s sapping the energy? The showers seem to make it over the Pennines but as soon as it gets past Manchester they die. Is it the very low DPs?
-
How much snow is there in eastern Manchester compared to western Manchester?
-
it’s fizzled massively in 5 minutes.
-
I think the showers are dying over Manchester.
-
It’s blowing a gale here, must be able to blow those showers over here! ?
-
18:20 and it’s -3.9c already. Crazy. Only 0.7c away from last night’s coldest temp.
-
HAD A Few flurries that tries to settle then blows away. Wind chill is brutal, and it’s already down to -2.8c. Might be colder tonight than last night. Any more snow possible tonight?

Is that circulation in the area highlighted?
http://meteoradar.co.uk/SatellietRadarEuropaVisual#Running the loop, it does look like a ‘kink’ in the flow, rather than a circulation. Could be a little low forming?

Is anyone around Manchester airport? I’m assuming all is ok there - I’ve got to head there for a meeting later.
