  1. Some big showers getting going to the east of the pennines no lightning detected yet but i think it will be just a matter of time. Will i break my duck for thunderstorms so far this year i think yes.
  2. Temp has dropped from 6.7 to 2.4 in two hours here, still sleet but with big flakes mixed in now and again
  3. sleet mixed with rain here wont amount to much as the ground is soaking. still nice to see thow
  4. Well after a nice few sunny days here with tempertures of 16+ i am no well and truly out of winter mode looking forward to some spring warmth hopefully. About winter the worst i can ever remember for my favorite type of weather snow or strong northerly winds to really get the north sea roaring. 1 day of snow and no stright northerlys just a few north westerlys. For model watching again very poor apart from a few days at the back end of january of the 12 weeks of official winter i would say 11 of them have been complete dross. Rant over
  5. Awful winter here 1 day of falling snow and a handfull of frosts. Also the lack of sun has been a dissapointment just seems we have had the same type of days all winter. I no there has been differences but cant wait to see the back of this winter lets hope for some suprises in march and april then a long hot summer we are due one.
  6. The bad thing about this year is the lack of northerlys, easterlys can deliver big time for our region but getting type of easterly is rare as we have seen this year. But listening to the more experienced posters in the model thread i think our time will come in the next few weeks, i would like to see a north easterly from a scandi high they always deliver the goods Let the southerners have there few cms lets not forget last year and the year before we go pasted for a least one month of winter.
  7. To my surprise the last bit of moderate precip we had 10 mins ago had large flakes of wet snow in it. Snow reported in berverly and scarbourgh so looks like we have missed out by 60 miles or so.
  8. Radar shows snow here but its raining not even sleety, so wouldent get your hopes up snowstorm
  9. Got a couple cms here now and still coming down, small flakes but am still very happy with what we have had more than i expected with more to come. There is about 3 inches of ice on my back windows nerver seen that before
  10. light covering here but coming down nicely looks like we could be in for a couple more hours of snow going by the radar
  11. light snow here on the coast not a hint of rain just need it to get more intence so it can settle
  12. Nice summary TWS that how i see it panning out, still time for slight changes to the milder air pushing in at late evening time for the worse or better. Have to say looking forward to the event either way should see at least some snow for a time.
  13. What are peoples opinions on the front crossing on saturday/sunday for snow at sea level will elavation be a problem as ive seen this happen before where most places get snow but its rain down at sea level
  14. well saturday into sunday look amazing at the moment for our region front stalls over us according to the latest fax charts and the 528 dam line is way west lets just hope the pennines dont hogg all the precipitation
  15. Still a light south-east wind here will change i the next few hours thow, the showers on the south of the band still moving painfully slowly eastwards might scrape a flurry out of it but thats about it.
  16. Its on net weather extra so pointless posting link unless you have subscribed sorry mate
  17. Tried posting radar image but no joy (not to good on computers) the showers are just north of hull so quite away to push north yet but lets hope they do, some positivity in this thread for a change hey
  18. Yes they are breaking out further north lets hope for a nice suprise, they seem to be breaking out where the flow is stronger and the 850s are down to -10 or -11.
  19. Temp 3.5 here with broken cloud not even close to a frost, might get some flurries tonight which will do me as there hasent even been a showflake here since december 2010
  20. On a positive note there do seem to be a few showers popping up again in the north sea lets see if they get here and fall as snow instead of rain
  21. Looks that way at the minute, can believe the turn around in the modles sayin that anybody having dejavu sure this happend a few years back aswell easterlies are brillient if they come they are so difficult to achive.
  22. Rain with sleet mixed in here at sea level, surface temps are to high at the moment looks decent for the east from wednesday onwards with much colder uppers and a stronger easterly flow.
  23. Looks like there a few small showers popping up in the north sea to the east of us or am i seeing things that arnt there it has been known :smilz38:
  24. Quite a few showers already in the north sea and moving east uppers droping to -6 so will be a wintry mix to low levels they wont push inland as there is next to no wind, dewpoint currently just below freezing, first snow radar watching of the year
  25. The uppers are cold enough for low land snow but there wont be to much precip around but cant rule out some snow showers on east coasts. If you are talking about the warm front that will get nowhere near us which is a good thing as it shows how strong the block is.
