heavy rain and thunder here now but no lightning yet, there will be plenty of minor flooding around before the day is out in the north east i think

Thing have really got going here in the last 30 mins, huge shower clouds going up in every direction and distant but loud thunder, the sky to my south west is jet black looks like it could be a direct hit unless the sea breeze (which has weakend) destroyes it as it comes to the coast

just had light to moderate rain here, nothing worth reporting, have been told there has been localised flooding in stockton but can not verify myself but i would not be suprised it has been raining there all day according to the radar heavy at times aswell

Some big thunderstorms just to my south withnin 10 miles or so looks like they are almost stationary will be some big rainfall totals there i would think

Yes same down here a few showers now showing up on the radar lets hope in really gets going further north now.

Convection starting to get going here now, after the early start further south in yorkshire its easy to forget its only 12.30 plenty of time yet for things to develop further north

Lots of convection already today already had a heavy shower, think today will be very productive for the north east of scotland and england. Good luck today everyone

Sun has broke threw for the first time today here, the clouds look impressive and also the radar just hope i take a direct hit

Only produced moderate rain here but i think that is just what was left of the front that was crossing the country, the real convective stuff will follow on behind, there is a band just north of the humber i am keeping a eye on

Yes your probely right nothing will top the thunder snow we had last winter that was amazing but saying that last nights storm ran it close

Looking very promising for the north east again, plenty of showers coming our way and intensifiying on there way. All take a repeat of last night please. Feels cool outside but also quite close very strange

Hartlepool looks like it has taken a hammering its a shame there is no reports from round there tonight

Showere still seem to be intensifiying south of the tees river and even a few new ones popping up does anybody no why this is happening, ive heard on here about cloud tops cooling does that have something to do with it?

I can see your storm out my attick window or should i say the lightning show, looks like Alza was right the main part of the shower will pass just to the west but cant complain that storm was brill

I am ready for round two that shower to the south is intensifiying on its easten side can now see the lightning getting closer, the sky is bright orange at the moment brilliant

Yes thats the one i thought is was but is quite stange there is no precip on the netweather radar at the moment for me but ive just had a minute of torrential rain and a clap of thunder, maybe between the updates i guess

Its about time we had some fun this summer, unless my eyes are playing tricks on me there seems to be another thunderstorm forming hot on the heels of the last one can see lightning in the distance.

Yes i no i was right under it still producing lightning as i moves out into the north sea.

Great little storm at the moment plenty of thunder and lightning and torrential rain now, by far the best ive seen so far this summer and for it to come at night is a bonus

Wahey big flash of lightning and loud thunder first nighttime lightning i have seen in a very long time as a type another flash and even louder thunder was not expecting this at this time of the day

There is a new band forming just to the west off where i live, looks like it is heading towards the newcastle area AGAIN i might add, they have done very well for storms there so far this year were as me 50 miles further south ive had a few rumbles of thunder and some distant lighting and thats about it, just shows the regional veriance with storms.

Yeah at least the people on the rigs will be getting a good show,thats it for me now a few near misses which is more than many of you have had, but all in all a disapointing day
