  1. Heavy rain in Macclesfield now. Washed away the dusting from last night.
  2. Sleet in Macclesfield now, quickly turning to light snow.
  3. Snow showers in Macclesfield all day, but nothing stuck bar the tops of the hills. Maybe something more later round here?
  4. Yep, staying at the good old Best Western Irving. Arrive into DFW at 1855 on 14th May. For anyone who is on Tour 2 and arriving a day early, I've booked a hotel room, that has two beds. If anyone wants to split costs for the additional first night, just let me know. Will be around £30.
  5. Cannot wait for May. Finally got flights for £540 from Manchester via Atlanta to Dallas, and Dallas to LAX and Manchester on the way back.
  6. I am! Arriving the day beforehand in the early evening. Should be great fun! Nice to meet you!
  7. Last time with BA? I don't blame you... Virgin Atlantic worth a look!
  8. Seems Virgin Atlantic are the way forward this year if you look hard enough. I've bagged my Manchester to Phoenix flight via Atlanta this morning for £649 return. Even DFW via Atlanta was £540. Not too shabby at all! And yes Nick, the lad inside the shop on Tower Road, was ermmm..... very, very, chilled indeed. Lol.
  9. That's the one! Personally, I find a pint solves my jetlag, but each to their own like! Past new year now, countdown to 2019 officially on! Is it time to check-in yet?
  10. And don't make the mistake I did at Tower Road in Denver, of thinking the building across from the Days Inn is a Pharmacy. I found to my own cost its a dispensary of cannabis instead, that was awkward...
  11. Same, will book this hotel. Going to stay a day after too, as the tour ends immediately before the UK Bank Holiday weekend, and it'd be rude not to explore Phoenix and Scottsdale for a day!
  12. Out of interest is there a base hotel in Arizona like in Dallas or Denver? Yeah Denver in future almost seems more central, Dallas is quite a long way South, and I was surprised how quick it was to the Kansas border this year from Denver. Plus Burlington, CO. Seemed to be a great base for many days storm chasing on T4 this year! Happy new year everyone!
  13. I've bought this year through Virgin Atlantic via ATL on the way out and LAX on the way back. Was £542 the other week from Manchester, and 15hr with changes each way. Fully agree, BA is sky high this year, has been since August! I'm scared to check Skyscanner for the Dallas route now in case I bought too early and prices dropped!
  14. Cannot wait! Merry Christmas everyone and happy new year!
  15. Hmmm, ok, looks like alternatives instead of LHR are more than reasonably priced. What is the earliest time roughly that should you be looking at leaving DFW on departure day?
  16. Yeah DFW flights are around £830 today return. Who are you flying with Nick?
  17. Out of interest, how much is everyone paying this year? I've been looking since July, and the best deals to DFW from MAN or LHR without some 26 hour flight, are only £850 to £930. Usually, they get around £500-£600. Will eventually bite the bullet, but seems a lot more this year to fly to america. Dublin to Chicago to DFW/DEN seems a lot cheaper though, around £530. Any ideas if flights via Heathrow will drop?
  18. I remember that! Someone sounded them in the middle of the night by writing some code to hack the system or something. Amazing, that not even this is safe anymore
  19. Yeah, there are different rules based on where you are as Paul said. On the Dodge City tornado day, a good 10 to 15 minutes before the tornado physically formed, the radar picked up strengthening rotation as the meso developed, and they issued a tornado warning. Anyone inside the tornado warning box had sirens go off as precaution. So this little town that we were in had sirens go off for a storm that was to their North and moving away, but limitations of the system I guess and better to be safe than sorry. And if you never heard one before, they are really cool, but very spooky when they go off!
  20. Fantastic shots Nick, I've booked for next year to go to Arizona! Are you joining again?
  21. Some more photos from yesterday! Tomorrow and Friday now also looking good!
  22. Hey guys, Wanted to post some stuff I caught today, so started the thread. Headed from Columbus, NE down the I-80 towards Denver, and got on a tornado warned storm near Hoyt, CO, which put down a beautiful tornado near Hoyt, CO. Will upload more pictures later! Celebratory steak in Burlington, CO. Mike.
