Absolutely fantastic day today! I waited all night for today and it payed off big time!
Snow started around about 4:30amish but was like light and took a while to get going properly, the ground was very wet, but all of a sudden from about 6:15 onwards it was beginning to get heavier and started to settle on cars and houses, and then another 30 minutes later the flakes got a lot larger and heavier, and the ground was going whiter and whiter!
Whilst my part didnt really settle as well as everywhere else on the IOW, but I walked like 200 yards up the road, and there was a good 2/3 inches , and the snow just carried on right until about 3pmish, and since then we have had the odd shower every now and then
P.S it is snowing as I type this
-
Now the schools are shut here , snow is getting very heavy!
-
Starting to get really quite heavy now and beginning to settle!
-
Its coming down properly now, just tried to walk around in it and its impossible, its gradually getting heavy

SNOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
Oops got excited lol

Dewpoints around most of the Isle of Wight are now below -1, Temperatures hovering between 3.1 and 3.6c.
Right now judging earlier on today we had snow falling at my place in Sandown with a temperature of 4.1c and a dew point of -0.8c, so that in mind what ever falls now should be snow....... I hope haha.
-
Well I am braving an all nighter, there is no way ill be able to settle down tonight!
-
Light rain on the Isle of Wight - despite all the opinions and optimism I suspect we are going to be lucky to see anything other than snow on the hills at Butser some 18 miles away. The sea remains a huge pool of (relatively) warm water and I do wonder what the models make of this
Hey there fellow Isle of wighter
The rain/sleet tonight has been expected according to the NAE, but dont panick about it as the temperatures is expected to drop rather quickly after midnight, and I am pretty confident even on the Isle of Wight coast we will get a decent covering of snow tomorrow before turning a bit sleety again in the evening. How ever further inland Isle of Wight shouldn't be affected much In my opinion especially higher ground, and believe it will remain as just snow.
So don't worry yet fella

Woke up to a pleasant suprise this morning about 9ish, woke up to a lovely snow shower, which gave a ligh dusting on the ground, roofs and cars:D
-
Went to bed at 1 am after waiting for snow, then fell asleep, but then I woke up at 4 to see a text from my mate saying there was a light dusting where he was, so I checked the radar and had seen there was a load of precipitation over us. So I looked outside and was greeted to light snow falling , there was a slight dusting on the top of car roofs but that was it. It decided to get a little heavier with bigger flakes about half an hour later and it had made the roofs more white and most of the cars , But it had gone by 6am and everything was just really wet as the temperature shot up.
Either way I was happy to see snow fall and put a smile on my face, yaaay
