  1. Hope allowed, just read on the weather channel in US they expect a flat zonal set up from next week replacing the record warmth in parts with a trough in the east. That'll trigger up the jet won't it?.
  2. Met4Cast Yes,a truly awful chart. Only saving grace is the op has been on the fairly mild side of the pack frequently. Them blasted Iberian heights
  3. Sweeping drizzle here. I've never wanted a band of rain(on way) so much to wash this away Hopefully we can eek a decent spell out of Feb. Sure the signs are there but we get let down alot more often than not. In early march , synoptics have to be nearly perfect to deliver. Then I'm looking for warmth tbh.
  4. Well, that slightly covered the cars and roads again. Dying down now. I know that next big batch is rain. At least it'll all be gone by the time I get up.
  5. reef Do feel for you guys out east. I remember the 80s as a kid seeing a foot of snow from showers on the news/weather, down the east coast whilst we just had frosts and sunny days. Crazy how the east coast gets very little from northerlys now to 30/40 years ago.
  6. Still snowing moderate here with a big heavy echo incoming(hopefully still snow) then that'll be it for my altitude id have thought.
  7. Heaviest snow of the day that looks like could last a couple of hrs. Front is moving through quick. Dint know about snow into this evening looking at the radar.
  8. The precip loses energy as it moves north, looking at the radar. Would be good for you guys high up if it didn't. Meanwhile,in the mod thread, some realisation kicking in amongst the"big hitters" that things look like not falling our way in the extended lol. One or two are conspicuous for their absence on there this morning. No doubt they'll turn back up if a chink of light shows up to tell us how it is again......
  9. Still moderate sleety snow here. 1deg dew 0. Need heavier precipitation. Heavier stuff to the south keeps losing intensity as it moves north. Can't wait untill it's over and we turn dry next week. Enjoy high up
  10. northwestsnow if ec46 is your only crumb of comfort, I'd start looking for warmth
  11. Harsh Climate I get what you're saying to a point harsh but I'm not seeing it on that chart tbh. Big Azores high and nothing cold(interesting )of note. Dry,yes. Potential, maybe. But that rarely gets us anywhere. Far too much traffic NW.
  12. I'm at a very modest altitude but think we could manage a few cm been on the east side of the Pennines. I'm hope the easterly wind will pep up precip against the hills. Meanwhile on the mod thread there's some back slapping front the usual suspect now the models are sort of setting a easterly(not cold) up. You couldn't make it up lolol. Paul Hudson just said double figures at the weekend. Lol
  13. Uncertainty problem is,we need the Atlantic to disrupt under which hardly seems to do nowadays and like you say,a lack of cold and issue. Good for dry weather.
  14. Ec46 has hardly ever come to fruition. Everything day10 and watered down to nothing. Iberian heights kill us. What a poor excuse for a winter. God only knows what the mo are seeing. Can see them backtracking re longer-term. I know there a few weeks if Feb left but we need a instant turnaround for me, personally to be interested. Bring on the warmth for march.
  15. If nothing happens in the remainder of Feb,I'm looking for warmth in march. Winters are and IMO only becomes worse for searching for cold and snow. Give me a warm spring anyday rather than a slush fest with high lat blocking which we know will probably become apparent in march , April
