I will believe it when I see the lightning, even then I will question it. I wonder what has changed in the past 20 years to push the storms further east? or did this happen a lot then as well? Am I just compressing memories together to make me believe that there used to be more storms?

Cool cams those im watching the 4th stream, its a shame we cant get storms like this, we had nothing not even a rumble today. Disappointing.

Stayed up really late last night and we didn't even get a wet fart, I would be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed but that's the game. NW France, Belgium, Luxembourg And the Netherlands looks like good spots later. I really think we need the pesky channel gone.

Thought I'd check back quick and storms have started producing lightning ha to far south and too light to see anything from my location which is currently wrapped up in bed. If it gets close then I will move but for now I'm too comfortable!
-
Just looks like a line of normal showers, I do not get how all the models could be wrong about the overnight hours and good forecasters.
Its so frustrating, tomorrow the same scenario will happen... we will all be cam watching.Don't know why I'm up this late. Browsing the net, editing a job app, etc....
Time to sleep, this looks hopeless so far, but I reckon things could potentially kick-off. Setting my alarm for 2-3 hours.
Same here mate, clutching at straws I think.
Guys, that wasn't a false positive. It's still there, and in fact, people on Twitter from London are saying they heard the thunder
They are the lucky ones then.

All died off again. Hmmmm what vital ingredient is missing?
Edit: I just farted, maybe that was it
The problem is the UK not the ingredients haha. Its a shame/

Strike in Central London.
False positive, I saw it also but then the computer software corrected itself.
-
I keep seeing false positives that disappear.
-
I saw a flag through the trees as I was parking up - must've been the one near Chichester but since then nada
I hope it was the Union Flag and not the French invading!
Its starting to get light im not sure if im going to head off to bed because this stuff looks like its not going to do much other than the odd flash of lightning.
Even the Biscay stuff is dieing.
-
Check out that Cocking cell - gonna go off one soon!
Looking good, I might be a bit far north to see it spit lightning though as a thin layer of cloud has slid its way over.
I just hope more builds to the west as its making a its way directly for Central London.
-
Another has shown up south of Brum im guessing just north of Worcester.
Or not im sure it was there for a second. -
It has all died a death by the looks of it. Doesn't look like getting going again. Shame
?Hasnt hit the shoreline yet hopefully orographic lifting comes into play but im not sure if the south coast has the elevation.
-
Strike over Suffolk? Can anyone confirm this?
I believe that that is a false positive.
Definitely an area to watch
Looks a bit like anoprop.
-
First cell over land now, southwest of London.
Where are you seeing that? Im looking at both Sat and Blitz and I cant see anything?

next time put your foot down
Not with bare feet, Euro mouse spiders have one of the more potent venom's found in any UK spider.
Back to storms looking tasty over the channel but I have a feeling this stuff is not going to get here until mid morning at this rate unless it can gets wiggle on.

Mouse spider?
Haha im talking about European Mouse Spiders, not as scary I can tell you, they are beautiful they have shimmering grey hairs on their abdomens with brown legs, that's why I think this was a mousey but I am not 100% sure.
This a storm thread, not a bleeding spider thread! I don't want to wince at every quoted message!
Sorry dude but this thing launched itself at me when I was trying to help it haha.

Thanks . I only have i phone earphones but she may except them if worried but you have given me an idea with a small cd radio player I have with nursery ryhmes etc . I never thought of that so :-)
No problem I had a serious phobia of storms until I was about 14/15, I can still remember to this day my father putting headphones on me during storms, it also helped me as when I was ready to take them off my dad was there for me. Sometimes I still get worried about storms, I have a condition called Alopecia areata when I get nervous clumps of my hair fall out and I still have a bald patch from my parents leaving me in charge of their house whilst on holiday and there were storms during the night, the first time I had ever faced a storm alone.
-
et voila....a second elevated storm fires 50 miles west of the first one over Brest
I am glad there is at least someone on this thread thats not directed by their feelings (like me haha)
Also is this a Mouse Spider? It abseiled in front of me and when I went to move it away with a bit of paper it became very aggressive and went straight for the paper I have never seen a spider do this before normally they run away, it then ran under some baby wipes, when I picked up the baby wipes I took this picture and it was froze like this and then ran away before I could get a glass to move it out. This is the second encounter with a mouse spider if it is, last year one ran up my the inside of my leg but I was able to get it out before it bit me. Dont worry I didnt harm the spider I actually love spiders in my house as they keep pests away.

I'm caught between two sides tonight .from a personal point of view I want to see and hear lots of thunder and lightning tonight and tmrw . But my 3 year old has become absolutely terrified of it since storms last year and used to have sleepless nights for a couple of months after. This faded away . However the squall about 10 days ago maybe sooner produced a massive strike here and her fears are only again just been easing.
I'm not sure what to do tonight but I might just show her through the windows and try to explain as comforting her without sight would keep mystery and mind wondering . What do you think any tips ??
Overhead headphones playing calming music and gloves. I still use that to this day to calm me down.

very early days folks....the plume is just showing signs of destabilizing in the mid-levels with elevated convection over Brest and now firing near the Channel Islands which is pretty much on schedule......all this talk of 'bust'..a tad premature!
Sorry that was my fault... haha

So what is the trigger for these storms? Even France is quiet right now.
Typical I could pick any other hobby avaliable in England yet I am drawn to the two things that elude us the most, Snow and Thunderstorms. haha- 5
-
I think this is going to be a massive bust if im honest. Only tomorrow will there be storms... maybe.
