  5. I came across something peculiar and quite sad yesterday on my way back from Southampton, I was driving down the M3 on the fast lane when all of a sudden a mother and her ducklings walked into the fast lane!! Lucky I was able to swerve them but to make it all the way across to the fast lane in quite busy traffic was a quite a feat, unfortunately they still had the other side to navigate so I would imagine that they didn't make it. Quite sad really, it ruined my day.I was awoken at about 7am yesterday to distant rumbles of thunder, I watched the small storm pass to my west with intermittent distant thunder, I decided to go back to sleep for a few hours but I was awoken again at 8:15 to more distant rumbles of thunder but this time they were a lot more frequent, the storm didn't hit until about 8:45 and I could still hear the thunder at 9:30, It was a nice wake up for once. Glad I was down there.26.4c right now, it feels really nice, not that humid though.
  6. That storm in the northern part of the Netherlands is absolutely brutal!! What a beast! France is kicking off quite nicely also, I wonder what has changed in the last 20 years that the storms no longer are prevalent on our islands?I wonder if we really had a load of storms or its just memory compression, where all of our memories get so compressed that they seem to happen in the same time frame where as they may of happened years apart?
  7. Look at the north sea just lighting up like 5th November.
  8. The storm that just hit Southampton was decent lasted about an hour and a half from the moment I first heard thunder until it was gone.
  9. Pretty decent storm just blew through central Southampton, it's amazing how the thunder sounds deeper when it's over water. It was all intra cloud but some loud thunder non the less. I could hear it for about an hour before it hit.
  10. I am going to be in Southampton from tomorrow, Cape is not looking to good there. What a weekend I picked to sort out my house for the next renters.

  21. Just been outside its spitting a bit and everything is slightly damp, the smell is amazing! Just shows how a few warm days can really get everything growing. Looking to my ESE towards London I can see some very dark clouds even in the darkness.
  22. I think most lightning activity in Europe is dying off now, we have had more chances this year so far then I can remember during this time of year in subsequent years. Its only May so we have a few months to get it right... for once!
