  1. Not much happening here apart from the odd 30mph gust, but driving along the M1 at 10pm was quite windy, the spray from the trucks was being blown a lot further back than usual!
  2. Apparently it snowed in Egypt last night!! Why cant we seem to muster up snow?Grey, murky, wet, dull, damp today, need I go on? haha
  3. Coming off of a cold myself!Last night I had to defrost my car at 10pm when I was coming out of work, fog wasn#t as bad as the night before though!Pretty boring pattern right now for me, get up go to work come home and sleep lol so not much weather watching for me.
  4. Beautiful sunset this evening once again the colours remind me of when I used to use Microsoft Flight Simulator with an add on called real enviroment extreme. Stunning.
  5. Sunset is awesome tonight, some cloud making it look like the sky is split into a blue and a yellow section.
  6. Stornoway in the western Isles reporting heavy thunderstorms at the moment? anyone know whats going on there at the moment?
  7. Sorry I havent been around much but ive been on some killer shifts, I work for Total Oil in IT and I have recently started as a casual at Royal Mail in Hemel Hempstead next to the Hertfordshire Oil Storage Terminal saving up for Uni when you dont have student finance support is quite frankly obscene. I have to save up £25,000 to attened and be able to stay at the University plus food and expenses. Luckily I still have two years of Student fiance to support me hopefully.Sitting behind a computer all day is fine but at Royal Mail I am pushing up to 1/4 ton carts around for 6+ hours a day. Lucky I had a day off at Royal Mail as today I literally can't walk. Back to the grind tomorrow tough.I havent had time to observe the weather recently appart from the purple and pink sunset we had this evening it was beautiful.
  8. Quite windy earlier, dull, grey and mild... three of the four of them are what I hate most about the british weather.Came across this video on youtube from the other day about a guy originally from kent that lives in London, Canada:http://youtu.be/iI3dU2X9BSEAt first I thought it was London, England.
  9. Does -30C hurt? Coldest I have ever felt was -14c just before Christmas 2010 NW of London, UK, we had a snow pack of 5 inches at the time. There was no wind so it didn't feel all that cold with my winter gear on.London, Canada got hit pretty hard with lake effect snow the other day:http://youtu.be/iI3dU2X9BSE
  10. Not sure if anyone has seen this but if you do have electric heating and the power goes off you can try this:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=brHqBcZqNzEWe have gas heating but its controlled by electricity so not sure how that would work out lol
  11. I am watching a NCAA College football game, Wisconsin at the University of Minnesota (in Minneapolis) and the current temperature is -9c with a feels like temperature of -16c at 2:45pm!!!!Anyone spare me a few hundred so I can grab a flight over there??? haha.
  12. I would hardly call 7.5c artic hahaMinneapolis on the other hand will be -14c on saturday night with a high of -5c in the day! Now that is arctic!
  13. Instead of lampost watching I will be using the LED on my phone as the lamposts are shut off at 12am, unless that lot gets down sooner.
  14. Thunder here in Watford, I had to look on here to make sure I wasn't delusional. Not seen any snow though. Edit: just looked outside to see it snowing!!
  15. Is there an archive of these images? so we can make a comparison between now and last year etc?
  16. Now Clear Temperature -0.1 °C Feels Like 0 °C Wind(km/h) 0.0 Sunrise / Set 7:27 AM 4:06 PM Moon Waning Gibbous
  17. Evening all, I just had to chase a Heron out of my garden before it snapped up my dads Koi, we have already lost quite a few fish this year.A chilly 3.1c here and dropping quickly with a wind chill of -1c!Just how it should be this time of year (in my eyes anyway)
  18. Regulation lampost lmao, we don't have those 'regulation' lamposts around here as they go off at 12am every night and don't come back on until 6am.It would be nice if this sort of will it won't it malarky was confined to Autumn and Spring but as we all know it stays like this year round for all weather setups whether it be wind, thunderstorms, snow or extended periods of hot temperatures, I can understand why people get stressed as these opportunities don't come around as often as people would like.I am looking forward to it getting cold to be honest, I love a mixture of all weather. I would love snow but it would just be an added bonus.
  19. We have ice in our water plant pots this morning also, I have an image somwhere from 2010/2011 either in December or feb where the ice was over 2inches thick, earlier this year the whole pond (10x9m) completly froze over almost enough to walk on, my brother in law tried and fell through it lol. Don't know how thick it was but definatley was a couple of inches thick. Pretty cold this morning the bins in the garden have a coating of ice, I don't know if anybody else gets this but I just went out into my garden for a few minutes and ended up having a sneezing fit! I think it was from the cold air. Can't get my local temperature at the moment as Wunderground is down for the moment. Edit: Wunderground is back and my local station (just up the road from me) is reporting -0.5 °C! Love it!
  20. I agree because on here its less of the 'yayyyyyy McBusted in april! — feeling excited.' posts (which is an actual facebook status from one of my friends I used to live with).A cool 3.8c here, dropping off fast tonight. Last night didnt quite make it down past 4c for some reason?
  21. Really blustery out there today, not to bad when the winds not blowing though but that wind has a bit of chill to it. Also I read this in the news today, I guess the more simple a design is the less chance of it going wrong. My mother smoked for 20 something years, she gave up 12 years ago and hasn't smoked since. I think a majour part of that helped steer me and my sister away from smoking, never smoked in my life and I never will.
