  1. Yeah that was just rain no lightning, feeling cooler now that the rain has passed though.
  2. Interesting day here, we had slate grey skies with a clap of thunder earlier as Bluebreezer reported. Then around 3:30-4pm it hammered down. Very chilly though. We had a massive family gathering earlier and it is crazy I have about 34 people in my close family so it was quite a large gathering. 9c currently, not sure if it only feels cold because its been such a good summer or because it is cold?
  3. Autumn is my favourite season!! Its been below 10c here a one or two times recently. i have a reading of 7.9c at the moment
  4. That literally made me laugh so loud im glad nobody is around to hear me laugh like a complete nut bag! The wasps this year are incredibly annoying, they let themselves into my house and disapear into the cat food pouches! You get quite a shock when one of them flys out at you, they are a very weird colour this year as well they seem to have a darker yellow than usual almost like a mustard colour. I just wish the wasps in the Uk were as tolerant as the wasps I have encountered else were like in Greece the wasps were 10x more abundent but they were very docile and you could swat them away with no problem and out of the 7 people we went there with none of us got stung, also Praying Mantids were quite abundent. Maybe because the area was sparsly populated and there was plenty of food? Also in Florida there were loads Bald Faced Hornets but they never seemed to interact with humans, they just stayed up in the fruit trees. I dont mind insects just as long as they keep to themselves, the european wasps tend to invade your personal space. Back to the weather, its hot 29c at the moment clear blue skies and the works. I woke up about 7ish this morning to a brilliantly white bedroom, almost like the days you would wake up to fresh snowfall. It was soo foggy that I could hardly see to the end of my garden it was crazy!
  5. Only to be let down ay? this time of year it would only being rain, I’m ok with it being this hot at this time of year as meteorologically (for some reason I can't pronounce that world properly without getting tongue tied) speaking we have only just started Autumn and this time of year at this latitude we should still be having summer like average temperatures. Although saying that I expect at some point in late September to October to get the first below 5c reading in my area. Autumn is my favourite time of year the temperature tends to be comfortable with some swings from hot to cold with the first frosts of the season, the leaves are starting to change colour and fall plus we have Halloween (which is my second favourite holiday with Christmas being the first) and Guy Fawkes Night which is another on of my favourites! Both of those I like to be cold because I have some good memories of the weather being cold on Halloween when I went to Thorpe Park Fright Night with my sister (who was my manager at the time) and some of our work colleagues, and on Guy Fawkes Night me and a few of my flatmates went down to the docks in Southampton to watch Mayflower parks annual fireworks display which was pretty cold and misty. Great memories!
  6. I really dont mind the spiders because they get rid of any other unwanted insects, the ones you are probably talking about are the Giant house spiders as they are known. The can get up to almost an inch body width and some leg spans can reach over 3 inches!Pretty cool to me, they have a nasty bite though but probably wont bite.
  7. What a nice day it was today! Pretty good birthday, I got this as a gift from my parents... safe to say im sleeping in tomorrow! haha
  8. At least you got some, I had one thunderstorm close(ish) with just sheet lightning that lasted about 10 minutes the rest went in every direction apart from mine. The night storms decided to die off before getting here and then re-fire north of the M25, what a disappointing year storm wise it has been this year for me. The weather in general though has been absolutely awesome, temperatures have been perfect. We have had a mix of warm/hot days and a mix cool nights and warm nights with relatively low dew points so nights haven't been too bad. I can deal without having storms if the payoff is a good summer. I just hope because of the warm weather we have been having that it doesn't increase winter temperatures, if we have a bitterly cold winter with this year’s summer that would make it a perfect year!
  9. We have a tree losing its leaves already out front of my house, anyone else have trees doing the same? Its a bit early.
  10. Anyone notice how sharp the line is from West London to Leicester? thats crazy what is causing that? The rain keeps falling almost at 22 hours of constant rain right now.
  11. Never experienced it myself, snow rates don't get to that level around these parts. I have only seen it on youtube etc would love to experience it!I think ill opt for the third version and thats both... If I had the choice id move to the Northern United States somewhere like Minneapolis, or even in the Southern Canadian praires like Regina, Winnipeg or at a push Saskatoon.
  12. If I had to choose between thunderstorms or snow? mmm, I guess it depends on the other waether too. If it just stormed 360 days a year constantly then that wouldn't be my cup of tea as you will have a vastly higher percentage of getting struck by lightning and if it snowed constantly we would be burried.I don't think I can choose.
  13. That line is crazy we have pretty much had constant rain from about 4am ish last night with a few rest bites in between, amazing! Its just been moderate rain though with one heavy shower between 12:30-12:50pm.
  14. Typical, anything that goes north of the M25 decides to form! I will wait for a few more hours with my fingers crossed but yet again im not holding much hope.
  15. Im not much of a betting man but I bet that Lincolnshire will be the best spot.... again!
  16. The radar said its raining but I just went out and theres absolutly nothing?
  17. I found a Olive coloured newt on one of the outdoor dogs beds which is 3/4 metres away from our natural pond (we have a natural tad polepond and a large elevated wooden pond), I picked it up and it didn't move much and was pretty lifeless all though I could see its eyes open so I decided to wet my hands and pick it up and put it in the tadpole pond as it felt dry and was totally exposed to animals and the surroundings. Was putting it in the water the right move? When I put it back in it didn't move much and it sank straight down. I now feel like it might drown? I now feel really bad. Heres a picture of it in my hand.
  18. No storms again? the usual haha?I wasn't holding much hope anyway as my area seems to always miss them, they scoot past in all directions. All I want is one decent storm! ONE!!!! Oh well theres always winter for snow but this area doesnt seem to get as much precip as the surrounding areas.
  19. Any lightning seen yet? That main band seems to be moving quicker then anticipated.
  20. Pretty heavy rain here at the moment, the time it took me to get from upstairs to the back kitchen was the time it took for half the kitchen to flood!
  21. Does anyone get that feeling where all of a sudden it feels like a different season and then you get excited? I just had a feeling it was autumn (my favourite season) and got a bit excited hahaHave a good holiday MK.
  22. The rain has missed me to the south by like a mile or two. Overall though this summer has been pleasantly surprising! Except that the storms seem to allude this area.
  23. Seen 2 definatley but I thought I saw about 3 out the corner of my eye, feels really quite chilly out there my toes are freezing I only lasted half hour!
