What type of storms tend to be the most violent? surface based or elevated? I just don't really know the difference between them. With the plumes in the 90's I always remember how loud the thunder was 'wardrobe shakers' we called them, hopefully we all get some of them bar the people who don't want them

Closest weather station to me is this one http://www.wunderground.com/q/zmw:00000.12.03670 and its reporting 33.2C, who knows if its true though. I can't believe I missed out on the storm this morning, maybe a bit far away but I am guessing I still would have heard it.- 652 replies

Anyone clock that MCS in Central France, man thats a corker if you got that over you youd know it! I bet no ones sleeping there tonight!I am sceptical about tomorrow night, I just hope everyone gets something and not like the severe storms that just hit the midlands and no where else a few years back.

Nice storm just west of Le Harve, currently producing 4 strikes a minute. -
I would love to see an overnight storm much like the storm we were all gawking at on the Hamburg earthcam a few weeks ago but I feel for us in the south/east it will be a late afternoon to an evening affair! Not that I am complaining though because beggars can't be choosers. ahaHave a great day everyone, and fingers crossed.

I can't believe somebody just said to me "Did I just see 'for East Anglia follow junction 12' on the m25? I thought that's a country abroad? Slightly confused." I shook my head in shame! *facepalm* moment.Feeling muggy out there after a chilly evening! I wonder is this is the first sign of things to come??

Feels rather chilly in the wind tonight!I have been finding all types of insects and animals that I wouldn't noramlly see because the weather has been soo nice!I have seen Ichneumon Wasps, blue Butterflies/more butterflies in general and a large colony of Summer Chafers which are flying round the cherry tree in my garden. Really quite interesting.
