  1. Weird how the snow fizzles just before the m25! Im back in Watford for the week.
  2. It was hailing as well, sounded like somebody was pouring frozen peas down the window. I dove out of bed when I saw the lightning to try to open the window before the thunder but because it was close I didn't make it before the thunder got here. Haven't heard a bit of thunder like that on a while. That was a wardrobe shaker. I think that was the first time I've seen hail in darkness as well.
  3. Heading back to Southampton today, hopefully this cold spell decides to happen but im skeptical.
  4. Anyone else having the most amazing sunrise? its beautiful!!! Taken in North Watford:
  5. 13C here in Watford, abismal. Go home Atlantic, you are drunk! It should be illegal for the temperatured to rise above 10c in winter.
  6. I have a feeling the atlantic will win out yet again unfortunatley.
  7. Another thing that could have been a factor is atmospheric audio ducting, the sound wave gets trapped in this case within a air layer thats close to the ground. The sound has no were to escape making it a lot louder then a normal crack of thunder. Think of it like a firework, you let a fire cracker off in the open palm of your hand and it burns but doesn't do any damage. As soon as you close your hand and set it off you will lose your fingers etc.
  8. So since this Beasterly Easterly Beast decided it didn't want to grace us with its presence thanks to that evil atlantic low who wants to move to Minneapolis with me then? May Severe Thunderstorm: Yesterdays Snow Storm dubbed Snowapaloza or Caesar by the Weather Channel: EDIT: top temperature there today is -12C in the city with out lying areas as cold as -22C!
  9. http://uk.news.yahoo.com/beast-east-uk-spared-siberian-blast-103154565.html#42gfkHZ 'Beast From East': UK Spared Siberian Blast Britain looks to have been spared heavy snow and sub-zero temperatures from a weather front dubbed the 'Beast from the East' - but some areas will still struggle with freezing conditions. Unfortunate really!
  10. Weird to think right now you could drive from france all the way to the eastern tip of russia drive across the bearing sea because its frozen and end up in eastern Canada without seeing a single patch of green!! Theoretically.
  11. Northern plains in the US are getting snow as we speak, blizzard warnings out.
  12. Im sorry guys I told my mum about it, its my fault. I should have kept it quite haha
  13. When do you think the latest date would be next week before the snow starts? I was wondering if it was worth me taking the last 2/3 days off to get home so I don't have to worry about trying to get home?
  14. Can the weather hold off until next saturday and then pummel us with the snow on the 15th please? I am going home to Watford for the holidays on the 14th, I dont want to be driving home and get stuck on the M3/M25!!
  15. Wait for it..... give it two models runs and it could all change! Love the ramping but im going to go bald from waiting haha.
  16. Thank you gottolovethisweather! Pretty interesting, the more snow in Europe the better really as it will keep it cooler then normal.
  17. When was the longest stretch of sub zero temperatures? does anyone know? I really love snow so does my dad but if its not cold enough it doesnt stick around for long.
  18. May I enquire to ask were you get the snow and ice cover png's from please? Thank you. It snowed back home in Watford this morning but quickly melted away according to my mother, we didn't get anything here in Southampton but wind chills stayed below freezing all day.
  19. Its early yet, its a good sign that snow/sleet is falling so early in the season. Someone said there was snow flurries in Southampton but ive been looking out my window and ive not seen anything. The lamp posts are far enough away that it would be hard to make out any small amount of snow.
