Hi Mark, I think my other half and I are booked to go on this one. Not 100% certain about whether to go or not as I'm tagging it to another planned tripAnyone else booked on the last tour starting on 12th June from Denver? That's the one I'm going on with my girlfriend, her exam dates mean it's the only one we could do.

Hi Guys, sorry but we won't be there either as we're double booked this weekend and my masterplan to make both became overly complicated .
I know you guys will have fun, sorry to miss out .

You guys were so close. I would have been terrified!!! Look at all the traffic on the highway too!
Strangely not, the only scary moment was much later on from the El Reno Tornado, when we we stuck on a highway and the guy on the radio was shouting for everyone to get off the same highway as there was another tornado headed our way.. oh and there was huge green hail core behind us with 3 inch hail !
At that point though we didn't know about what happened to Twistex and the mother & the baby or the people who drowned in OKC. Had we known I'm sure it would have been different

Lucky so & so's ...sounded like a good chase

Please tell me you got the Haboob between Syracuse & Garden City KS......if not don't tell Paul about it !
-
still no stream for me on either site , so calling it day ..Keeping my fingers crossed for your Nebraskan Tornado
-
Some good structure this year!
I'm pretty sure Nebraska is on Steroids this year , but have to admit I'm starting to warm up to the State
-
you aren't far away from verne carlson, and his stream isn't dropping, go and nick his wifi hotspot!!
phenomenal structure to that cell
I think they just did..
-
but the better tornado risk for you guys. Will be stalking you on the feed!

Cloud 9 were nearby too, a chase tour convergence?
-
insane inflow are headed to the same position as Charles Edwards, who I believe are near the guys

gah lost the stream, time to move to the ipad

No stream for a while guys. Thought it might kick in as you got close to Norfolk but still nothing.
Hopefully it means they got something good

Good Luck Guys

Indeed very a sobering tour. Not only did we experience the storm and see the El Reno tornado but we saw the effects on the community for ourselves, It will stay with me for a long time.

Wide load vehicle in front of Paul
Sorry Tom, I'll move out of the way
-
Not really a bust , we knew we'd be lucky to catch anything coming in from New Mexico without putting ourselves out of position, given Stormscape spent the day at White Sands , Paul made the right call so realistically it was a down day.....Bust! Note tornado reports from Florida associated with the TS.

Very sad and maybe a reflection on how storm chasing is going. There are lots of people doing good things out there, studying to try to improve safety and warnings of which Tim and crew were one.
More and more people trying to get up close and personal with a tornado (me included).
Looking at the pic below, there could have been a lot more. The red dots are stormchasers. Pic from Weatherspace.
Matty , I chased this storm with NW and part of the reason the chasers were so close together was because there was simply nowhere to go due to the gridlocked traffic and rotations & winds in the storm. Although some chasers clearly acted irresponsibly, most were simply just trying to escape the situation in the same way we were and made similar decisions on the limited options available

Only way to describe today was intense. This is my 4th year on the Plains with the guys and I've never imagined anything like today. Thx to Paul & Tom for working so hard . I was only slightly scared when we couldn't move due to traffic and had a rain wrapped tornado within a hairs breadth of us , which demonstrated how bad metro chasing can get.
Definitely will remember my 10th Tornado for a long long time............
