  1. Yes because they accepted the risk and entered into a contract with you.

Sadly not a simple as this. It maybe worth checking with them as there may be a clause in the small print which allows them to change the cover especially if they only refer only to Activity 3 cover but they should notify you in writing if they do make any changes, because as Dave says you've entered into a contract....

  2. Fair enough, but these guys pin point them and i would of thought a few miles would make a big difference to saving lives?

I agree they are a good source of information and make more people aware of the dangers inherent with severe weather

  3. To be fairm Tornado Sirens are not even intended for any use other than an outdoors warning siren. The expectation is that people should use NOAA weather radios as their primary source of severe weather information and warning. Much more information can be given through this medium than with the use of sirens which have a very limited range of tones. For some reason though, takeup of weather radios is very low, despite them being heavily subsidised and very cheap. Think my weather radio cost about $13 which is nothing for something which can save your life... I do think there is an element of anti-government sentiment which will make any federally enforced NOAA radio laws fail in certain areas of the USA. People in general don't like being told what to do, even if it is for their own good.

very true, buti t's not necessarily just weather radios, I read an article just after Joplin, saying that tornado shelters are not part of the building code requirements in such areas which is odd considering the rules and regs on buildings in US earthquake zones.

I guess it comes down to money and politics.

  4. After watching the vid Cookie posted, what a great job storm chases do by warning the public which direction the tornados are moving in, so thay can stay safe. They seem to do a better job than there own goverment.

To be fair the NOAA do a fantastic job in warning the public and despite huge budget cuts in other areas the Nexrad network is currently being upgraded. This is in addition to the good coverage from the News networks. The downfall to all this is there is no federal requirement to have tornado sirens or shelters in vulnerable areas

  5. yeah anyone gets any decent links today, Post them here or on the facebook group! thanks!

erm...can I just add the caveat that the FB group isn't run by Netweather because I don't want to get into trouble with Ian M or Paul M and get banned as I almost did last year after fleecing Ian M at Poker
