Hi Guys , I know officially this is a weather vacation but I've realised that the total solar eclipse in the US is on T2/T3 changeover day May 20th. Are there any plans to try and see this ?

Well this is my first time so not sure on prices. It's a gamble really. Was gonna wait till after Christmas in the hope of a sale as others have recommended but decided to go for it now as it is at its cheapest it has been for a while. I check them at least 2/3 times a week.
Paul S said it is good to get there day before to acclimatise but again, this is my first time do don't take my word for it. Anyways don't wanna hijack the march meet up thread!
Wow, you are raring to go! American Airlines are marginally cheaper and some AA flights are actually BA flights from T5, so it may be worth checking out.
BTW Storm Chasing isn't covered by most travel insurance companies so you'll need a specialist..Go Walkabout is an insurer who will cover you but you need to call them to get the policy specifically endorsed (at least I had to last year)

Of course I will be there,
Grew up in Oxford age 11 - 18, great place. If people have time they should Drive/ hop on a Bus and get out to the Cotswolds, Burford, Borton-on-the-water those kinda places!
Anyway, Ian let me know about hotel ASAP, over facebook if you can as I don't use these forums very often!
Cheers
Is it worth just setting up an an event on Facebook with the details? I'm much the same as Dave and don't look on here unless it's chase season but we're all on Facebook

Just been looking at Arizona info and thought this might be worth sharing :
Support Our Law Enforcement and Safe Neighborhoods Act. The act makes it a state misdemeanor crime for an alien to be in Arizona without carrying registration documents required by federal law,
Best keep our passports on us then
Ahh we'll be okay, we'll be there for less than 30 days, but..........Maricopa County Jail is the only county jail in the US to retain the old style chain gangs and is apparently one of the toughest in the country ..so think we should still do our best to avoid it .

most forecasts seem to agree with 10% chance of t-storms from Tuesday night and the following 4 nights, with chances of day t-storms on Friday and Saturday in the Phoenix vicinity..............we are going to be busy

Hi Paul (H).

Personally, so far I've found the new format more user friendly and it seems to load more quickly (on my netbook anyway). I like it alot
