Staying in Carlsbad tonight. Tomorrow looks really good for this area so not far to travel for initiation with the mountains Roger mentions visible to our West.
Tomorrow should see some huge hail and great supercell structures, the guys are lookin forward to it

Ok . So i've got the go ahead to use my sons camera and equipment. Just need a nikon user or someone with the know how on Tour 3 to help me out and point me and the camera in the right direction.
I'm a complete noob with cameras but will be trying a few things out in the next couple of weeks

annual travel insurance or dog tag seem to be the ones who will cover chasing

It almost looks from these last couple of years that it would be worth going out earlier.
The spc 4-8 day write up is tantalisingly good.
I'd kill to be on T1 this year....typical

Annual Travel Insurance are alright (www.annualtravelinsurance.com) I saved £90 by buying an annual policy with them. Stormchasing is covered by their Grade 4 activities but ou may need to stump up for the Super Plus cover as the medical claim limits are half than those on their normal policies

really really bumed that I gotta spend yet another £100 on insurance to cover medical conditions. grrrrrrrrr.
If it's any consolation I've had to put in a claim for a new windscreen so the car passes it's MOT on Thursday and my car insurance quote went up by £80 ..not happy since I have a £100 excess and have just paid for chasing and travel insurance

Hmmm, they gave us the base for the A1(M) stretch of motorway between Alconbury to Peterborough & the idea for the stretch of the A1(M) Durham motorway, both without bends
straight and to the point...how roads should be !

Really? Just ran a quote to see what people have to pay and it comes out at £95 for DogTag Max cover. That's £5 more than Go Walkabout. Unless I'm looking at the wrong thing?!
I always go with an annual policy as generally it works out more cost effective for the extra, clearly not in this case...

Thanks to Tim, who has been emailed by Dog Tag to confirm they are happy to cover chasing this year. The only exclusions being cover for loss or damage due to climatic conditions, so hang on tight to your cameras if it gets breezy.
You need to select Sport+ cover.
Thanks again Tim, you beat me to it with Dog Tag, I am hopeful of confirming another option over the next 24 hours too.

Still loving our chances of 9/10 chase days..assuming Paul S can cope after T3!
