  1. This is what I know as thunderbug hereabouts. It's a type of thrip insect. Thunder Flies – Thrips-ID English WWW.THRIPS-ID.COM
  2. On the ITN news coverage 5th July 1999 the chap who mentioned the tail coming across like a dervish, you may of edited it out but at the end of that report, I remember him saying it was just a one off "it will never had again" LOL
  3. Flensburg / Blick nach Norden - Foto-Webcam.eu WWW.FOTO-WEBCAM.EU Webcam Flensburg / Blick nach Norden Nothing on this cam yet. Should get some more clear nights during the next week/10 days.
  4. I knew I missed a good display today. Just had to sleep instead
  5. That's an unusual way to keep you awake, coffee/tea is safer perhaps.
  6. Mostly clouded out, a faint hint of NLCs too. Not sure it was worth getting out of bed..
  7. It does the job, your time lapse videos are good. Read just now on spaceweather the NLCs may have increased because SpaceX launches, I thought that may of been the cause a while back.
  8. How are you creating the time lapse ? Is this video sped up or individual photos?
  9. Was just about to go to sleep, went onto the forum and saw Arnie's post. Got out of bed and walked 300 yards to take a pic. Quite diffuse up to about 20 degrees
  10. Clear hereabouts now, no NLCs to report. Clouds moving in again later I think.
  11. As you know luck has to be on your side with the weather, and moon phases to get aurora etc. Although I'm relatively lucky to be away from major cities. the local countryside is being chipped away year on year. And my town has more light pollution now than five years ago.
  12. I've seen the Aurora twice naked eye from here can't remember the exact date, maybe November 87 I think was the best with red pillars moving. December 21st 2015 a white/grey colour near the horizon, came out as this with 25secs exposure 3200 ISO. Also see the same treeline ware I took the NLCs couple of weeks ago.
  13. Harlan Thomas in Calgary on June 26th https://spaceweathergallery.com/indiv_upload.php?upload_id=186148
  14. Yeah I had an early night, then was in meercat mode from about 23.30. Went out at 02.15 am thought I'd wait for the moon planet conjunction. Just looked on the Spaceweather gallery, a few lucky folks got the Aurora and NLCs.
  15. 26-6-22 02.45 - 03.15 in the NNE to about 30 degrees.
  16. Diffuse display in the NNE now lol beat me to it Arnie.
  17. Was wondering if it was worth a meercat thanks for letting us know. Quite a bit of stratus here now anyway.
  18. The aurora oval is across Scotland on some charts. Shame the sky is too bright. Maybe someone could get the aurora with NLCs. I've seen photos a while back of this on Spaceweather.
