  1. The December 2019 Scrabble hand equivalent....
  2. I'd just put it down as incredibly boring so far! And the yawnfest just drags on and on. December 2019 will certainly be quickly forgotten and never mentioned ever again.
  3. Forgot to record Weds morning's eighteenth air frost at -1.0C. +7.5C at 7am this morning. Positively Mediterranean.
  4. I've been away! Left 5am Saturday to drive to EDI and in West Linton you couldn't see the road for all the snow. Was a 30mph job. Home last night and there was a smattering of snow on the ground/grass but nowhere else and it was spitting with sleet. Same this morning. Seventeenth air frost Sunday am and Sunday pm at -1.0C.
  5. Snow here now too. Big gloopy stuff. Just taken the dog out round the garden and up the hill and after five minutes everything's soaked through, including him! 0.9°/0°C.
  6. First snow of the season on the drive home last night - mesmerising in the car headlights. And this morning verges white in the headlights and tracks on the 'A' road at the highest points (~230-270m asl). Holding on to that steering wheel!
  7. How was Sunday's storm a 'named' storm that no-one noticed, where as it's a working day today with significant weather disruption the storm has no name? Lorries topple as wind and rain cause disruption WWW.BBC.CO.UK Roads are closed and trains and ferries cancelled as heavy rain and strong winds batter Scotland. Really not understanding this so-called naming convention now.
  8. Sixteenth air frost an hour ago at -0.7°C. Now +0.2°C and the only way is up! Been a lovely day with a pastel sunset.
  9. Suppose it was the fifteenth air frost at -5.0C around 1am. +2C at 6am however, and spitting with rain which was falling on very icy surfaces....
  10. Fourteenth air frost at -6.6C. Max this afternoon of -1.6C making the first day of winter an ICE DAY! Hurrah. Off out with the dog - wrapping up.
  11. Thirteenth air frost at -7.6°C and a 13:30 max of 0.9°C, so still to have an ice day here.
  12. Twelfth air frost at -3.0C exactly. All the mud around the hoose is solid - wellies not needed at 7am.
  13. Between 100 & 200m asl this morning was the foggiest I've seen for many years. Dreadful driving conditions and some frankly, stupid driver behaviour. Dropped to 0.8°C around dawn even with said conditions. And then rain.
  14. High of 7.9°C. Driving drizzle whilst out with Finn. I remember autumn weather like this!
  15. Temp between 4.1C and 5.8C all day here. Frost a distant memory. Lovely walk out by Coulter woods this afternoon. Finn loving us being on leave.
  16. Wee hour over the hills at Broughton Place with our Finn. High cloud rolling in and temp at 1.5°C meaning frost slowly relenting. Beautiful.
  17. Ended up with the eleventh air frost at -6.5°C in the garden. Properly white and just replenished the bird feeder station with nuts, seeds and suet blocks. Already Mr Robin is looking delighted.
  18. Tenth air frost at -5.6C. Coldest night for me since winter 2017/18. Was thick thick fog until dawn - so everything covered in ice. Quick walk around the garden to feed the chickens at 10am and still -3.1C:
  19. Incredibly foggy morning up here at 2.1C. No frost. A quiet week ahead so maybe more on the way.
  20. Oooof. At 0.1C this morning I cannot claim the tenth air frost. Grrrr. Dry and clear at 7am and a beautiful drive in below the Pentlands as others above have reported. Traffic not so beautiful at the moment.
  21. Ninth air frost at -2.9C. With all this cold around, surely it's only a matter time that many of us see something white and fluffy?! (Jealous of our Aberdeenshire/Moray/Highland pals).
  22. Rainy sleet. Temp forecast of 0°C actual is 2.7/1°C.
