  1. Dreich! Today is the very definition of the word: https://www.google.com/search?q=dreich&oq=dreich&aqs=chrome..69i57j0l7.4126j0j4&sourceid=silk&ie=UTF-8
  2. Just to round-off what's been a quite wintry week here's a shot down the Tweed Valley at dusk
  3. If you want to post again C I can delete the two above? Snowy start at 6.30am then tremendous hail in north Edinburgh around midday. The archetypal April disturbed day.
  4. Snow line down the A702 and A701 at 300m this evening.
  5. Slight covering at 6am and snow billowing down. Puppy was not happy going outside to do business and cat ran in disgusted. Roads across western Borders black but at height by Skirling/Kirkdean it was a winter wonderland - I love frosted pine trees sprinkled in icing sugar
  6. Hills above Tweedsmuir up over the Beef Tubs snowy this evening. Nothing lying down to my elevation yet other than flurries.
  7. How's the soil moisture doing by you @Northernlights ? Absolutely waterlogged here now....
  8. It was. Should've listened to Uncle HC.
  9. Woke up at 10am to green. Now 6.8/6°C. That is all.
  10. I have ordered an extra six beers for delivery tomorrow - just in case.
  11. Very heavy when it comes and it's been coming very often. Upper Tweed valley was flooded into many fields either side of the river valley on Tuesday after the storm and lots of snow melt. Quite a sight when there's standing water across hundreds of acres. Saturday forecast - snow all day, max 1C and accumulations of 13.5cm according to xc. We shall see...
  12. 0.4°C and heavy snow for !last hour. Everything lovely and covered, even between the cottage and garage that's basically a quagmire. Best snow of the winter (in spring!). Morning gonna be interesting.
  13. Temp up to 2.1/1.9°C now after a good inch of lying snow. Still coming down very heavily in showers and valley completely disappears in a fog of blowing snow, but blue sky between. Wish I had the forward planning of @mardatha and @snowyqueen to get the panic buying into the cupboard as now I have to go to the supermarket.
  14. Had a couple of beefy snow showers here during the afternoon. Laid very temporarily on grass. Chickens and cat unhappy.
  15. Temp says 4.6°C but blimey it's chuffing cold out there. Shovels ready for Sunday....
  16. Blowing a hoolie up the valley here with a 40mph straight northerly. Feels absolutely freezing out there at 6/5C
  17. Really recommend reading this excellent blog on Sunday's snowfall in Eire, Cumbria and the Borders: Great checklist to keep handy for future reference. Thanks @Nick F
  18. Same here and despite a good inch on all surfaces and still piling down with snow at 22:00, I can't in all honesty call it a 'snow day' this morning. Snow on grass/fields etc but little elsewhere. View from bedroom:
  19. Aye Pete white over here now. Well pleased. Covering on the flagstones was the last to submit. Radar packed full so going to be an interesting event. Occasional cars on the A701 moving past slowly and gloopy/slushy noises abound... 0.3/-1°C
  20. Snow billowing down here at 0.9/-1°C. Lovely Freya
  21. 0.9/-1°C I suspect many folk across central belt above 150m going to get this now.
  22. And that is the snow on. Coming down fast now and temp at 3.1/0°C
