  1. Wet morning, sunny afternoon in Leith. First day to work in two weeks, and boy, the Pentlands aren't half brown. Nearly orange!
  2. Unforecast heavy drizzle. Has actually made the ground damp!
  3. Reading about adders and humans coming into contact with each other much more than usual. Peebleshire News reporting a house invasion!
  4. Heavy rain all around us today - South Lanarks, other parts of the western Borders got a pasting. Went to Biggar and the B Road flooded in parts. Ten minutes drizzle at home. Hosepipe oot! Leeks coming on...
  5. 23 miles is quite a distance to compare the two. Motherwell is urban, Drumalbin Castle is in beautiful rural countryside.
  6. 21°C maxes sound lovely. Any more than that and shuggee gets grumpy.
  7. Pleasant enough in Leith - 15C and a wee bit of blue sky about. Drizzle was threatening around Penicuik on the way in, but fine now.
  8. Urgh. Disgustizzle. Edit: An hour later it's monsoon rain and thunder. But still urgh.
  9. Looks like the action in the south today is east of me, so I've put the washing oot!
  10. The car said 23C in Peebles earlier. And now back home had a couple of hours of crash bang wallop and some steady but not torrential rain. Great summer's day!
  11. And now in D&G too. Going to be interesting to see how widely these develop and how far towards the east.
  12. Despite appearing to be in the epicentre of all the action over the last 48 hours, shuggee still not seen lightning or heard any thunder. Moan moan put me in a home.
  13. Stunning. Hot. Weird. My three words! Lovely visit to the botanical gardens down the road at Dawyck.
  14. Rain band much further southeast and more organised than modelled this morning? Genuinely surprised to have woken up to steady rain.
  15. Stunning down by the old railway there Catch! Glad my greenhouse opens automatically.
  16. Got very tanned in the garden yesterday - was a stunning day. Hoping for the same today.
  17. Lovely evening now. Bit chilly at 7C but decent for pottering round.
