  1. Another night - another lovely display.
  2. Earlier when I was in Holyrood Park moments before it kicked off: http://yfrog.com/klzuscxj From my @shuggeemonsta tweet.
  3. Good luck sammie. Having a respite atm, but radar shows a vicious cell heading our way.
  4. Stunning storm here once again. Super fork lightning over the city - no detection shown on the maps again though; might have to buy a detector to improve Scottish coverage...
  5. New thread for Saturday here: Just popping this in here - best storm in my 13 years in Edinburgh. Two and a half hours of fork lightning and then flash flooding.
  6. A rubbish photo from last night (@00h25), taken through the bedroom window - but you get the idea....
  7. Absolutely stunning display. That whole area of the sky is full of them.
  8. Typical - I pop outside and some patchy (normal) high cloud has appeared. Cup of tea, then try again.
  9. I've just had a good lean out of the flat window - and I can't decide if the large patchy rippled cloud to the NNW is noctilucent or cirrus illuminated by the sun just under the horizon. Going to give it half an hour.
  10. A classic photo - I wonder if Edwina was ready with a towel for a rub-down.
  11. New thread for Thursday open now: There's also the general thread for more storm information.
  12. A new thread for a new day of potential showers of heavy rain with possibilities of something electrical. Enjoy.
  13. Not dark enough here yet, and there's a north north westerly horizon full of cloud. Dam.
  14. Thanks for that Adi - we will get back to you after a chat
  15. Can see them here too frogesque. Have just had a good old lean out of the window, up the Newhaven Road and facing NNW. Clear sky and the slightest hint - although I never fail to be surprised how bright the sky is at this time of the evening.
  16. Yes, I was thinking something similar - NASS (sic) or perhaps that should read NASA are covering it up remarkably well: http://www.jpl.nasa.gov/news/news.cfm?release=2011-135 Or perhaps they are aren't covering it up, but have put word out that they are covering it up, so that the covering up of the cover up covers up the cover up?
  17. BBC weather on the news channel forecasting storms starting in a line east of Wash/Isle of Wight between 20h00 and 22h00 - then rumbling on through the night.
  18. Those Northumberland torrential storms have come out of nowhere in the last hour - to be the most intensive rain on the high scale radar. Amazing.
  19. Hi E11 Go to the top right where you'll see your avatar/photo and click the pull down triangle alongside your user name. Click on My Settings. Then left hand side menu, third option down; 'Change display name'
  20. Nat Geo article on sun cycles and the latest predictions etc: Sun Headed Into Hibernation, Solar Studies Predict http://on.natgeo.com/lUdXt4
  21. Totality started a few minutes ago. Cloudy to the south east here - but blue sky is about...
