  1. It's raining and we are losing the heat here. I'm sure it's going to be further inland and Pennine areas may be the best place ?
  2. I'm not even considering what the models predict beyond 72 hours at this location At 120hrs, ECM=1010mb, MetO=1020, NOGAP=1020 and GFS=1014 ??????
  3. Ok so the models are handling the high, but it looks quite mobile to me, pushing out on most simulations briskly. 3 days here if we're lucky. Looking at GFS the cloud cover looks disappointing too. We do have a lot of moisture in the land so it will be interesting how the 'rapid heat' has a bearing on the cloud cover and certainly if the models are over cooking the temperatures !
  4. That about sums up the experience here, but 3 hours worth of protracted storm watching (15:00 - 18:00). No strikes within a mile though and It's all over here today, the sun has come out !
  5. I got rain and a distant rumble of thunder, so I didn't have it ! Infact sun came out, the barbecue went on and I thought that may have brought something my way
  6. Strike rate on the Lightning detector has started to fall so it could be just be rain if or when it reaches here. The path it's taking does look promising !
  7. Looking at the radar and what is to the south, you could see more today ! I'm hoping the sun currently here will be the trigger for something in the next hour
  8. GFS shows the Cape is improving toward and into the weekend now. Not vigorous but it's there all the same !
  9. There's a good sharp line from Anglesey to Whitehaven on the radar. Looks promising ... 2 hours away though
  10. Between 96 and 144 on Meto, NOGAPS, ECM and GFS the trough looks to get fixed solid between Scotland and Norway. There certainly isn't any westerly flow showing in any models this morning !
  11. 18C here in Warrington and now 100% cloud cover. Was that summer in Warrington this morning ?
  12. The line running from Crosby across Liverpool bay into Wales look quite potent ! Although I may catch the top part the rest is on it's way into Shropshire..... again.
  13. More like 25th December here, pouring rain, cool with condensation running down the windows after a Turkey roast .... yes a turkey roast tonight not a BBQ !!!!
  14. Looking across the charts, Friday looks quite a dry day now with most of the rain (and not even convective) pushing into the Benelux region, as for sferics, they are out into Eastern europe by then. As for NW England here tommorow looks the best for Tstorms ? Like you say it could all change again in 24hours !
  15. Yes, The line looks to be getting intense between Widnes and Preston I'll get an update when I get into the office, unless it hits me in the car en-route very shortly !
  16. That is an amazing straight line on the radar from Shrewsbury in the west over to Kings Lynn / the Wash in the east. Certainly one to watch !
  17. With more of the same forecast in the next few days it will be interesting to watch the levels on the River Don. It looks from the radar as if the worst is over on the Pennines between Manchester and Sheffield tonight but I'm sure someone will confirm if this is not the case !
  18. It lost all it's potential East of the M6 tonight. It has just been continuous rain for the last hour, nothing heavy. Hope it pushes the humidity up promptly in the morning though
  19. A few spots here, I may be too far north and miss the worst, I'll be back in the NSC !
  20. Might not have to go anywhere, cool air drafting down the Dee and Mersey Estuaries hitting that humid weather head-on !
  21. In the right place here, and the radar indicated 25mm/hr in the last downpour !
