tonight should be a good night...

    Good observations Rob👍

....and with the latest NOAA 21 showing another increase in the mass of NLC`s around the pole

With sunspot AR3354 yet to explode

.....plus for the 3rd week on the trot it`s Devaude, for the 'full rotation' day, with the signals from OSWIN and Capel Dewi

...but, whats the chance of any clear skies tonight🥴

reports from europe including netherlands at 11.40..

Might be worth hanging around till the 2nd half then

My slight clouds have disappeared now - struggling to find the right settings and hold the phone steady🥴

Certainly a big chunk of NLCs although I think the inevitable flares from that massive sunspot AR3354 will probably knock the numbers as we head into early July

It happened last season when sunspot AR3032 exploded on June 13th , producing an M3-class solar flare that lasted nearly 8 hours from beginning to end.

Although being in mid June, the NLC`s had time to recover but according to the Aim images, at the time, decimated the mass over the pole.

We will only know by the cloud count from NOAA 21 - and when it`s published

  4. With a comfirmation that the mass of clouds rotating around the pole is expanding (according to the latest NOAA 21 images)
There is no reason to belive that the 5 day rotation shouldn`t be holding true
Uk sightings have been constant to this movement over the past 3 rotations, ie 15/16- 20/21 and 25/26.

With the next full rotation due over the UK being 30/1 (Fri/Sat)

With Fri/Sat looking to be clouded out over the UK.

It may be worth noting that there were slight sightings over the UK the night/ morning before the full rotation date. ie tonight/morning

Similar signals have shown up on OSWIN in the lead up to the full rotation with todays activity holding to trend

Edit; It`s just as easy to click on a link than  risking any copyright infringement which could be served against netweather.tv

This day 11 years ago, a classic day for UK storm enthusiasts !

elevated storms fired up over the welsh marches  around breakfast swiftly turning into a MCS  which in turn tapped into the boundary layer becoming surface based as they swept through the midlands dropping fist sized hail and a large (by UK standards) tornado near Hinkley in Leic, as well as nr Sleaford (lincs) IIRC.... then moved up over northern england to give the NE some of their best storms in years, again IIRC the River Tyne bridge was struck by lightning !

I lived in Penkridge at the time and rmember the monster storms and the village being under water !

quick edit, there's hopefully still the storm threads in the NW archive as well as a thread I made specifically for this event

    I remember that Mr Poolshark

Me and the missus turned the telly and  the lights off, and watched in ore at the constant flashes and cloud crawlers👍

You coudn`t stop talking about it for ages🤣

  6. Lovely to watch Sundays display and view some cracking photos

I am keeping an eye on the rotation of the display and with last nights sightings in British columbia,  confirming its pace. it should next be over the uk by Fri/Sat (30-06-2023)

Still awaiting the latest NOAA 21 images to be published to gauge whether the mass is still in depletion, but sightings over Alaska tonight would be an encouraging sign and show the of the rotation

I`m awaiting an ebay delivery on Sat 01-07-2023, so again, i would not bet against a display on Friday/Sat😅

  7. Just an observation from the latest NOAA 21
The number of clouds observed has fallen over the past couple of days from 1698 to 1542

    This indicates to me a depletion of the cloud mass over the pole, hopefully just a trend and not something more long lasting with the Sun being so angry at present;

    worth monitoring😬

  8. Petty sure full clouds is going to play its part for the coming evening/ morning.

as i mentioned earlier were back on rotation for the 5 days since the last positive sightings

    OSWIN & Capel Dewi showing

and looking at the radars , and comparing them to my personal images, they are looking very similar to the ones 5 days ago🙂

and we look like being plagued with cloud now...

Sat and Sun might be interesting because they are 5 days after positive sighting were made over the UK
Sunday being the stronger display.. Any gaps please🤞

    Officially another negative sighting night

As for tonight not much on the radars and 5 nights ago was a negative

...and i can scenes an early night🙂
