  1. Not according to the BBC. Light rain, light snow at 3.00 then dry. NAE moved west again. Not much PPN over Bristol
  2. Lots of excitment here. People seem to forget it will be RAINING before any snow arrives. The snow will fall on wet ground at lower levels so doubt you will see anything near 10cm unless you are on the Mendips. Temperatures up to 3 to 5 degrees by the afternoon so a quick thaw. If you want to see some snow, stay up all night. Looking forward to events after the weekend.
  3. Looks like a period of light rain and drizzle before any snow falls. The snow seems to have been put back. On the latest GFS, the snow dosent arrive until midday tomorrow! And before then its just rain. Then onto Midday Friday. Then onto 15.00 Friday.
  4. Says it all really. Bit and pieces of Snow getting near the M4 corridor at 22.00. The grafics show rain from 18.00 with any snow reaching south Bristol around 2.00am. So looks like some snowy stuff at low levels south of Bristol onto wet ground. Drizzle round coasts.
  5. Seems rain at first around Bristol area south, then the colder air digs in and turns to snow for a time. Around Bristol channel coasts probably a bit of drizzle and sleet. Turning more to snow later, but with the ground already wet, North Somerset looks like seeing a nice snow to rain event again.
  6. Good old Ian. Snow to rain again...............grrrrrrrrrrrrreat. Rain lunchtime Friday. Mind you its raining before the snow arrives anyway.
  7. Well hopefully we get something decent. Last Saturday was a waste of time. It funny how so much focus was on last week, today I recorded this winters coldest maximum daytime temp of 1.1. Last weeks coldest day was 2.2. We are leaving it late for a decent cold shot. With a northerly and say -10 air over us, the 2m temps will be around 1 or 2 degrees, the sun will be stronger and snow melt will be widespread where the sun does shine. Anyway, getting carried away. Seeing snow on the ground would be nice anyway.
  8. This time its the other way around. The front is not coming in from the west, but from the NE travelling SW (lol i think). But it still dosent look cold enough for snow...but we will see.
  9. Coldest day of the winter so far 1.1 degrees max. Now dropped to 0.5. Last weeks max was 2.2 in my location.
  10. Mental, raining here. Snow settling on Bristol Citys pitch, my brother just sent a picture.
  11. Actually, just been outside......its spitting with rain.
  12. Just rain on the radar now. Not snowing or raining here now. 1.0 temp on the up
  13. LOOKING AT THE RADAR THE PPN IS VERY VERY LIGHT AND NOTHING HEAVY ON THE WAY. THIS MIGHT BE IT, THEN JUST DRY UP LATER.
  14. 0.7 light snow pitching in places. VERY SUPPRISED TEMP IS STILL SO LOW. RADAR SHOWS BLUE = RAIN - BUT SNOWING LIGHTLY
  15. temperature flying up and up!! was -4.0 now above freezing. Rain on the radar showing up. Boo
  16. Nice flakes falling...tiny covering...lol. Lovely to see, freezing cold and light snow. Cant beat it. On the radar there is a small area moving SE out of Wales.
  17. Light snow in Yatton from that little area moving SE out of wales.
  18. People keep talking of lampost watching? WHY? The front moves in about 15:00 tomorrow afternoon. Radar watch is what you need about 12 midday onwards.
  19. GP comments in the model output thread about a N/NE pattern coming up, then a full on E. So...if we get that for a week.......then we can have our snow to rain again, and again! LOL I said on here a few days ago, and will say it again..........I HATE ATLANTIC BREAKDOWNS....SNOW TO RAIN......HATE IT HATE IT HATE IT.
  20. minus 7.1 in the garden last night. minus 11.7 in the field
  21. Seems with every push west, the main PPN goes NE.
