  1. After storm Ali it now looks like Sundays low/storm will affect S/SE England instead of us and it doesn't look as bad as it did at one point then it looks like high pressure and drier weather until perhaps late next week I see the GFS is keen to develop another tropical storm/hurricane in the Atlantic next week and also possibly one near mexico late in the run
  2. 10 days on (still just for fun but worth checking for a recurring pattern) and now the signal looks to be a possible scandi high / easterly with 3 of the last 4 runs showing this as a possibility 00z run 12z run 18z run as for the current weather, heavy rain overnight with 6.9mm today heaviest was 3.6mm/hr at 04:40am another thing worth keeping an eye on for us Scots is a possible storm next Thursday/Friday/weekend here are the last 2 gfs runs ecmwf develops it on the sunday
  3. just for fun but here are two of the latest runs of the cfs 9 months for christmas eve/ christmas day (a possible pattern of a northerly? recent runs have also showed some easterlys)
  4. I have posted this in the Scotland thread but I will share in this thread too, my videos of the storm last night BEST PART WITH CLOSE LIGHTNING AND LOUD THUNDER AT THE START 0:08 for the lightning 0:20 for the thunder, 1:05 for the mental rain with more lightning and loud thunder
  5. Here are my videos of the storm last night BEST PART WITH CLOSE LIGHTNING AND LOUD THUNDER AT THE START 0:08 for the lightning 0:20 for the thunder, 1:05 for the mental rain with more lightning and loud thunder
  6. Here are some stills from my videos which I will have uploaded by later today, the 4th pic is the extremely close bolt I was talking about with the blinding white flash. (I have another camera which was also recording I will post more stills if I find any)
  7. WOW WOW WOW !!! That storm that has just passed over us (still a few flashes of lightning) was INCREDIBLE the closest lightning I have ever seen definitely a positive cg strike must have been yards away made the hairs on my arm stand up BLINDING FLASH followed by the loudest shotgun thunder I have ever heard, also some crazy intense rain in the middle of the storm, lots of flashes of lightning, cloud-cloud and intra cloud lightning, very gusty winds. I will have videos up tomorrow, and also possibly more storms overnight with more developing in the north sea and the north west of England.
  8. first flash of lightning and rumble of thunder also the winds have picked up a lot
  9. I have my camera at the ready for that big storm approaching from north east england, some whites and purples on the radar looks like I will be on the edge of it in the next 25-30 mins, areas like Dunbar, north berwick and eventually st Andrews look to be in the firing line for the core of the storm.
  10. A couple of video stills from the storm last night, I am uploading the videos to my youtube channel and I will put links on here when they have uploaded
  11. rain just arriving here now, lightning activity dying down a bit still occasional flashes, looks like the cell is splitting with the worst of it heading towards Dunfermline and another cell up towards Arbroath, more developing in the north sea which may affect the likes of Aberdeen and Peterhead in the coming hours, not to mention the further chances tomorrow late afternoon/evening/overnight which will likely be more severe than the storms this evening.
  12. Looks like the heat will start to arrive by as early as Sunday I would imagine with these temps day on day homegrown storms will be popping off at some point next week too. click the first pic for GIF of temps
  13. After two days of cloudy skies and cooler temperatures the sunshine has returned high yesterday of 13.7C and today's high so far 17.3C
  14. Convection towards my west in the direction of @Blitzen & @Big Innes Madori 21.5C
  15. Spotted something potentially interesting for tomorrow night/sunday morning a possible forth-clyde storm streamer (similar to a snow streamer but thunder instead LOL)
  16. Rain arrived here now, quite a few rumbles from the cell affecting Edinburgh but the worst is passing to my east at the moment however it looks like more cells are building again to the south/borders area ?️
