Dry, mostly cloudy with some sunny spells 6.6C 990.1hpa -
Had some more snow/graupel showers throughout the night and the first part of today with a gradual thaw of the lying snow, looks like it could start as snow tomorrow afternoon before turning back to sleet/rain however throughout this week looks like more wintry weather could be on the way as the colder air hangs on and moves further south at times. 2.3C / -3.8C 993.8hpa

2018 best compared to which historical event?
Kirkcaldy Weather replied to Jemma Croton's topic in Spring Weather Discussion
For my area this either ties with or marginally beats 2010 in terms of snow depth (currently 9 inches and 1 foot drifts here) and in 2010 I was living 75m higher than I am now and measured 16 inches. -
Friday 2nd March Weather Observations
Kirkcaldy Weather replied to Summer Sun's topic in Weather reports
Cold, light snow, very windy 2.2C / -3.7C -
Still snizzling here, had more snow/graupel showers overnight, just measured 9 inches in one spot and a 1 foot drift, very hard to measure due to the wind blowing the snow. Temperature is the highest it has been for a while 2.1C / -4.0C (possible heavier snow starting again on sunday?) quite a few ensemble members keeping it at or below -5

Still snowing here, had more thundersnow at around 7pm and as i predicted the second plantpot is all but buried (measured 25cm just now and the drifts must be a foot deep if not more which is crazy considering my altitude) ps- loving everyones pics, what a memorable spell this has been and possibly even more to come in the next few days

We had shotgun thundersnow at 2am, just measured a level 18cm and drifting to 25cm, couldn't get the backdoor open due to drifting, first plantpot buried and if these showers keep going all day again the second plantpot (which is hgher) will be buried by tonight, snowing again currently 0.7C / -3.8C
